Ready, Set....

And almost "Go"! Our brand new Mini Catalogue is almost here. Lots of beautiful new stamp sets, paper and accessories will be available for a limited time only. I cant wait for August 1st, because that's the day you are all allowed to order from the new catalogue. As a demonstrator I have been allowed to order from the catty for myself, and have begun to busily make up some lovely new samples with the new sets. I'll be posting pictures of many of them over the coming weeks, so stay tuned. If there's something that you really love, please let me know - I'd be happy to demo it for you or to help you make your own too. If you are already on my mailing list, then you should be receiving your copy of the catalogue in the mail over the next couple of weeks. If you arent on the mailing list, please contact me at higgiz@bigpond.com and I'll mail you one for free.

In the meantime, enjoy this simple card. It's made with the new Christmas set called "Wishing You" and uses one of my favourite colours, Rose Red, teamed with Kraft Cardstock and Gold Cord. I hope you like it.

Touch of Nature

Here's a stamp set that I got as a freebie... I originally chose it because even though it wasnt my style, I thought that a lot of my customers would love it. Funny how actually using a set can make you change your mind about it. I find Im using it quite a lot, and liking it more and more. But I was right that my customers would love it... it's been an extremely popular choice out of the new catalogue.

I did these cards for a Workshop this week. Mostly because I wanted to use the Watercolour crayons as that special is continuing until the end of the month. (For anyone who doesnt know, until July 31st the Watercolour crayons and pencil sets are 25% off when you place an order over $50 for any SU products. See the "Just add Water" promo details on this blog dated 3rd July) Im really happy with the cards... what do you guys think?

Dont forget to email me at higgiz@bigpond.com if you have any questions or need any information.

Happy Stamping Guys!

Linda

Eeeek, I've been tagged (again)

Images Copyright 1990-2007 Stampin’ Up!

This whole tag thing has been around for a little while now. The idea is that you have to tell 7 things about yourself that other people might find vaguely interesting, and then pass it on. So Im embarrassed to admit that I have now been tagged 3 times - once by the lovely Marelle and twice by the cheeky Angela. Embarrassed because I've never responded to a tag because I wasnt sure that I had 7 truly interesting things to say. Still not sure that these are all that riveting, but here you go...

1. I think of myself as a "child of the 80's" and know all kinds of music trivia from that era. (Always loved those "name that tune" games... if its an 80's song I have a good chance of winning)

2. I lived in South Korea for a year after I finished school as an exchange student.

3. I have a complete and utter phobia of snakes

4. I am married to my brother's wife's brother. (Doesnt that make your brain hurt? And yes, it's legal)

5. My favourite place that I ever lived was in a one bedroom apartment in Manly with views of the Ocean and the Harbour. It was fantastic!

6. One of my favourite treats in the world is going to the hairdressers... I'll pay extra for one of those head massages that they give you, or offer them extra money if they make it last longer! I know that's sad.

7. A few of my all time favourite films are The Princess Bride, The Shawshank Redemption, Parenthood, Mystic Pizza and others too numerous to name. I love movies, but dont get to go very often.

Now, who should I tag?

Dont worry girls, I wont hold you to it.

I hope you enjoy the card at the top of this post. I used the Stampin'Up "Simply Scrappin" pack materials for the card, and also borrowed the inspiration for the card from the cover of the pack. These packs are Sooo much better than I thought they would be! There's everything in there that you need to make both layouts and cards, and lots of them. I used one at a workshop on Saturday to make a layout and several people ordered them. It just proves that people need to see and maybe even use something before they can really see how great it is.

Anyway... I hope you all enjoy it, and I'll see you next post!

Announcing the Winner of the "Cards in a Tote Set"

I'm excited to tell you that the winner of the Cards and Tote set (see post 18 June on this blog) was drawn today by an independent party, and the winner is.....

Carol Caulfield
Cranebrook, NSW

Hip hip hooray Carol! Please contact me before the 10th July to claim your prize, and I will pop it in the mail for you.

In the meantime, I thought you might all enjoy a mini accordian album that I did a little while back for an online competition. The first picture shows the cover and the second picture is the reverse side. The mini album I purchased elsewhere and the patterned paper is Basic Grey, but all the stamped images are from Stampin'Up. You can do so much with stamps! (By the way, I didnt win the comp, but I really enjoyed the challenge and got to have my work shown on their website, so that was cool). The letters "E" and "B" are stamped with my favourite alphabet - "Big Deal".

Hope you enjoy the pics...

"Just add Water" Promo - July 2007

Images Copyright 1990-2007 Stampin’ Up!

Hello Guys,

I wanted to let you know about the Stampin'Up! special for July.... it's a great special on the Watercolour products. For those of you that love watercolouring, whenever you spend $50 on any SU products, you will automatically get 25% off either the watercolour crayon packs, or the Watercolour pencils. So that means that instead of $38.95 for a pack of Watercolour Crayons, you will only pay $29.21. And instead of $37.95 for the pencils, you will only pay $28.46. Watercolours give you lovely soft options for adding colour to your papercrafts. If you would like a demonstration on some of the watercolour techniques, please contact me and I would be happy to organise that for you. You can reach me at higgiz@bigpond.com for more information.

The card above uses the Watercolour crayons on Vellum technique in the little Vellum window. I did a "Christmas in July" night for some lovely girls last night, and this is one of the cards that we made.

While Im thinking about the whole Christmas in July theme... I have another of these nights planned at my house on Tuesday next week (10th July). I still have a couple of spots left, so if anyone would like to join me, please contact me and I'll book you in, and give you my address details. We'll be making 6 cards and the cost is $10. It's a great way to get started early on your Christmas cards!

Hope you enjoy the card !

Linda
