Elite Challenges Blog

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to do a quick post tonight to draw your attention to the Elite Challenges Blog. Some of you might have noticed the link to this blog on the right-hand side bar of my blog here. You can find it under the heading "Places you might like to visit (I do!)". When you click on the link you'll go straight into the blog...
There really are some lovely card and layout designs on there already, even though the blog has only been running for a week or two. I'm a member of this group too, so you'll be able to spot my designs as well as those of some other very talented girls. The Elite Stampers are the SU Demonstrator group that I belong to and the group is growing every day! So pop over to the Elite Challenges blog and enjoy the inspiration I'm sure you'll find there.

Enjoy!

Competition Time - Win a free Stamp Set!

Hello to all!

I've decided to hold a little competition to encourage all you readers out there to subscribe to my blog. Why subscribe? Well... you will receive an email every time that this blog is updates. That way, you wont ever miss out on a post or specials that I announce from time to time.

How does the competition work?

There are 2 things that you need to to:

1. At the top of this blog, on the right-hand side, you'll notice a box where you can enter your email. Once you've done this, choose "Subscribe Me". You will then receive a confirmation email; when you open this, click on the link to activate your subscription.

2. Leave a comment on the blog - you can choose to comment on any of the posts. If you have a blog of your own, I will be able to check it out too.

That's it! Easy peasy.

The comp will run unitl the end of May, so for those of you who have already subscribed, you'll be included in the draw too.

What can you win?

Your choice of one of the Stampin' Up! limited edition sets from the Sellabration promotion held in January and February this year. The two sets on offer are either "Very Punny" or "Delight in Life". Both of these were extremely popular during the promotion and I know that you will love them. They are of course Brand New and never used, packaged in a reusable plastic container. Sorry, but the comp is open to Australian residents only.

Here they are...

Delight in Life... Sorry about the photo on this one, Im afraid that my camera is playing up on me. I'll try to get a better photo on here in the next couple of days.

Happy Stamping!

Seeing Spots

Hello everyone,

Time for a quick card. I made this one last night - really simple, really quick. It uses only 2 ink colours (2 of my favourites - Old Olive, and Elegant Eggplant) and also features a couple of the SU! punches. The main set that I've used, "Seeing Spots" is brand new in the new 2007/2008 Idea Book and Catalogue - and already its proving really popular. I think this is because it's so versatile, and also because at (AU)$29.90 RRP it's a really well priced set of stamps. (Less than $5 per stamp!) On this card I used the "Rock and Roll" technique to get the darker edges on the circles. If anyone would like more information about this technique, or to get their hands on a catalogue, please feel free to contact me, or leave a comment on this blog.

Happy Stamping

Sleeping Beauty

Yes yes, I know I haven't posted for a couple of weeks... so much has been happening around here, and we've had both of the kids sick and everything else just seems to stop. Except possibly the housework. That just keeps right on building up!

I had to post the above photo of Emma-Kate. As many of you would know, Emma was flower girl at my girlfriend's wedding. It was an afternoon wedding, and I have to say that afternoon's are not Emma's best time... but she did her flower girl duties nonetheless with grace and style and cuteness as required. But once the service started she was restless; she wandered back down to where Daddy was sitting, then back up the front of the church to where I was standing, then outside the church then back in etc etc. The went on for about 10 minutes. She then decided to lie down on the floor across the bridesmaids' feet and within a minute was fast asleep! She slept through the vows, through the hymns, through the register signing; pretty much through the whole thing. At least she was quiet :) At the end of the service Daddy scooped her up and carried her out.

But it was a beautiful wedding... Margy (the bride) looked glorious and she got her fairytale wedding that she wanted! It was so lovely.

I'll post again very soon... I have a competition in mind, so look out for details of that!
