Sneak peek of What's Coming...

How lucky am I? The other day I went out to my letterbox and inside was an envelope. I have to tell you that I get excited about anything in my mailbox that's not a bill, but especially so when it's a hand-made card.

But this card was extra special. It was marked from Stampin'Up's head office and was an Invitation. We have our annual Convention coming up in May (in Canberra this year), and I look forward to this all year round, as it's a chance to catch up with other demonstrators from all over Australia and spend time together stamping and learning new stuff. This will be my third Convention, and the excitement and anticipation still hasn't worn off. If anything I get more excited about Convention every year. But I digress. The invitation was to attend the "2009 Managers Reception" on the first night of convention "for light hors d'oeuvres and mingling". Well how posh!!! And of course I accept!

But here's the funny thing... after the excitement of being invited to such a lovely event, I then turned my attention to the card itself! Firstly I love the fact that I work for a company that 'walks the talk' and actually sends hand-made cards... it means that someone (or several someones) at the home office actually sat down and made them for all the demonstrators at a certain level and above - which would have been a lot of cards!

But Im excited for another reason... you might note that it's made with some of the Brand new Incolor range from our upcoming 2009-10 Idea Book and Catalogue. So it's kinda like my own personal sneak-peek - and I thought I'd share it with you guys! The base cardstock is the beautiful Baha Breeze, the cardstock strip across the card is Tangerine Tango and the striped ribbon is Kiwi Kiss - all brand new colours. Other elements of the card are teasing me because Im not sure if it's confirmation of what might stay from the Mini? What do you guys think? First impressions? Feel free to comment. :-)

My thought is that why would the make a card using brand new products then put something on it that will be retiring???
To me that wouldn't make sense...

PS did I also spy some gold cord? that retired last year, but I noticed the US have had a stretchy version... If they could bring back the original version i'd be a happy stamper since I have 60 odd metres left lol

I really like the tangerine tango. Not sure about the kiwi kiss colour, but i love the style of the ribbon.

I am so excited i am bursting with anticipation and can hardly wait for the catalogue. These last two weeks are going to take forever to come.

I think you are right Zarna... my guess (note this is pure speculation) is that Eastern Blooms is going to show up in the new catty? I guess we will know very soon! And no, that's not gold cord - it's hemp twine, but it's hard to see it properly in the photo. I loved the gold cord too...
