Spritzing Class Sneak Peek

What a gorgeous weekend we are having here on the Central Coast!

I thought you might like to see a little pic of one our projects from this week's Spritzing Class. This particular card features Spritzing of course.. but also masking and Direct-to-Rubber with Markers.  It's simple, but combines a few of my favourite techniques.  And with these gorgeous stamps and supplies from Stampin'Up.. its hard to go wrong. :-)

If you would like to make it with me I have two available class times this coming week:

Tuesday 30th April @ 7.30pm

or

Wednesday 1st May @ 11am.

We will be making three projects and exploring several Spritzing techniques.  Cost is $20 and all materials and refreshments are provided. I run Papercraft and Cardmaking classes on the Central Coast, and address details are given at time of booking.

If you would like to join us, just EMAIL ME and I will reserve your seat.  Class sizes are limited.

Hope you can join us.

Dreaming of a Cure....

Some weeks ago I was privileged to be part of a Fundraiser for a dear friend to assist in her brave battle against breast cancer.   As part of the night some of us provided "make and takes" for people to make, and we charged a small fee to people to make them... the money of course going to the cause of the night.  We kept them pretty simple.. especially as some of the guests had never made a card before.  This is one of the cards we made... and we made a few projects, all with a Breast Cancer theme. This one I called "Dreaming of a Cure".

Hope you like it, and I will be back with more soon.

Getting more MDS practice

I've had a bit more time this week to start playing more with Stampin'Up's new MDS (My Digital Studio) program. I have to say I am really impressed! Even though I am not particularly technically gifted, and even though I am a "traditional" scrapbooker and paper crafter... the ease and speed that you can create with MDS has taken me by surprise. There are so many options available, and it is VERY intuitive. Although there are lots of training and beginner videos around, its so user-friendly that its not hard to just play with it and work it out as you play.

And best of all... its FUN!  I can see how you could get a little bit addicted...

So... who wants to play with it for FREE??? You can download the trial version completely free of charge, and play with it for 30 days at no cost at all. Nothing to lose!  Click HERE to visit my online store and click on the "My Digital Studio" link. Easy!

And i have 1 $10 left for someone to use my Online Store to place an order. If you are using MDS, I would really love to hear what you think about it.

Today page above is my very first attempt at an A4 size Scrap page with MDS... this seriously took me less than 30 mins to do... and I was still trying to work out where everything was. I did another one this morning and it took even less time.  These photos were taken on a beautiful sunny day when the kids and I went to Darling Harbour in Sydney... we visited the Aquarium and had ice creams and lots of fun. I'm glad I scrapped it cause it brought back good memories.

I hope you have a lovely day, wherever you are :-)

When your friends and loved ones are overseas....

The world is much smaller than it once was... and yet, when we are separated from those we love, the gap seems so far!

So what should we do?  Send them a beautiful hand-made card of course!  And until June we have a limited release Stamp set to use.. its called "Sent with Love".  For me its particularly timely and meaningful, what with all the travel I am doing this year... (love all those little airplanes)... and that my significant other actually lives on the other side of the world.

I thought this card would be a worthy addition to tonight's Stamp-a-Stack.. and at time of writing there are still spots left if you wish to join us. I have tonight at 7.30 available (16th April 2013) and tomorrow 17th April at 11am. If either of those times suits you to come and make 6 cards on the Central Coast with me, then I would love to see you.  The cost is $20 and all materials are supplied.

Stampin'Up keeps bringing out cute sets and accessories for us to use. Come and see what's new, and use those creative muscles.

EMAIL ME if you would like to come along.

Here's a close up for you:

Stamp-A-Stack this week... Card No. 1

Hello everyone!

What a beautiful day is it here today on the gorgeous Central Coast.  And I have been creating this morning too.  Today I have a Stampin'Up! party to enjoy, and I am doing the Chalkboard technique with them. Love that technique! So simple but so effective.

I thought I would post the first of two cards we will be making at this week's Stamp-A-Stack.  There are two classes this week as follows:

Tuesday 16th April @ 7.30pm

Wednesday 17th April @ 11am

Come along, and bring a friend if you like. Just let me know that you are joining us by clicking HERE

The cost is $20, and you will make 6 cards (3 each of 2 different designs) in total. Envelopes are also provided. The card shown above is one of the two different designs we will be making... I've done this one as a Mother's Day card, but of course you can add any sentiment of your choice and use it for other occasions. All materials and refreshments are provided.

This card was inspired by a card I saw online, designed by Chris Gilmore. I was unable to locate a link for a blog for her Im afraid.  I changed the card around quite a bit, but Chris's card gave me the original idea to use the "Elements of Style" stamp on the First Edition DSP.  Thank you Chris for the Inspiration.

I hope you enjoy it too. Better yet, come along this week and make it for yourself!

"Impromptu" Classes next week

So.... it seems I got my weeks mixed up!  Somehow the holidays have snuck up on me... but more than that, my kids are heading off to a week at their Dad's house.   What does that mean?  Well it means I can actually schedule a class or two next week... without needing to pay for a babysitter!

Stamp-A-Stack anyone?   If you haven't been to a Stamp-a-Stack before, it works like this... you will make 6 cards (with envelopes) - 3 each of 2 different designs for a total of $20.   All materials and refreshments are provided, and classes are held on the Central Coast. (Address supplied when you book in)  I'll put my thinking cap on and post photos of  the two card designs in the next day or two.

Here are the dates and times:

Tuesday 16th April @ 7.30pm

Wednesday 17th April @ 11am

Come along, and bring a friend if you like. Just let me know that you are joining us by clicking HERE

I hope you can come... Stamp-A-Stacks are always popular.  This time I will be including a card that could be used as a Mother's Day card if you wish. Although it will be generic enough that you don't have to use it for that purpose if you don't wish to.

Dont forget to let me know if you can make it. :-)

AND... today's photo is the very first layout I have made with Stampin'Up's brand new MDS digital scrapbooking software. Sooo easy to use!  If you want to download your own MDS trial completely FREE (for 30 days) click on my ONLINE STORE and order your copy. You can then download it completely free.. no postage or anything like that.  I hope you enjoy my first attempt.. and I am sure you will love it too!

Stamp Club Projects today

Today I have the first of my 3 stamp clubs, and we are making a great box and matching card. I've decided to keep the box under wraps for now, so that it will be a surprise for the Stamp Club girls :-), but here is the matching card. I used the pinwheel die again.. how cute is it???

At time of writing I still have one space available in each of my day stamp clubs. (The evening club is now full.)   Stamp club is a great way to learn great projects and techniques with a regular group of people - and it also helps pace your purchases, as you are committing to spending $50 in product, every other month.    Stamp clubs are held on the Central Coast.   The day clubs include all materials and lunch together after the project is completed. Best of all, we all take turns at being the hostess, which means that during the year, one of your club days means free products for you!  If you are interested, please click here to contact me.

Enjoy today's card. I used Baja Breeze as my base since it is one of the colours that is discontinuing... and probably the colour I will miss the most. xx

Look Out! We're having a Colour Refresh

Those of you who have been around for a while might remember that Stampin'Up did a major "Colour Renovation" in 2010.  Well... this year we are refreshing our existing colours... some of the older colours are being retired, and some of our most popular colours are going to make the cut!  Here's a quick look at how these Colour changes will look:

But here is what you need to know right now... the colours to be discontinued are only available while stocks last! This means that if you really love any of those particular colours you need to order them from me while you can.  You can either email me with your order, or even better.. you can use the new online ordering system.  To order online click HERE.... and there is still a couple of $10 vouchers left for the first couple of people to order via the Online ordering system. If you want to get your hands on any of the colours before they are gone this is your chance... and dont forget that online ordering is available 24 hours a day. Please note that at the time of writing i am told that River Rock refills are already gone.

Lastly, don't forget that this week I am running my project class featuring the following frame as well as a matching card.. click HERE for more details and EMAIL ME if you would like to join us.  Hoping to see you!
