Quilted Christmas Card

I love the freshness of red and white!  This Christmas we have been treated to the awesome "Quilted Christmas" 6"x6" DSP pack... and it really does make lovely cards both for Christmas and at other times of the year.  In our card today I have used it as the main background piece.  Even if you're not  quilter, you'll find that these quilt-inspired designs are so beautiful!

I also added a little of the Black and White striped ribbon behind my circle, but in order to avoid additional bulk, I used my scissors to cut off the wired strips at the side of the ribbon.  And the white strip across the card has been embossed with the Quilt Top embossing folder - also part of the Quilted Christmas suite.  I love that little bit of extra texture! (Try saying that a few times quickly lol!) You'll find the whole Quilted Christmas suite on pages 4 and 5 of our current Holiday Catalogue:

If you'd like to see the whole catalogue click "Our Catalogues" at the top of this page!  And dont forget TOMORROW IS THE DAY THAT THE RETIRING LIST COMES OUT FOR THIS CATALOGUE!  So be sure to check back here tomorrow and see which items re being discontinued!

Other touches I added to this card include some Gold Glimmer paper, garden green leaves cut with the Leaf Punch, and a sentiment embossed in white and cut from black cardstock with the Stitched shapes framelits.  The sentiment itself is from the Merry Little Labels stamps set. I've included a full list of products below.

Video Tutorial: Colouring Embellishments with the new Stampin' Blends alcohol markers

Today I wanted to share with you quickly a different way to use the Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. Not just for colouring... but also to colour different kinds of embellishments on your cards.

If you look very closely at the cards in the picture above you might notice that the rhinestones are actually in the colours used in the background colouring.  But wait... we dont HAVE rhinestone in those other colours do we?  Nope... I used my Stampin' Blends to colour them.  Watch the video below to see how I did it. And the best bit is that the video is super quick :-)

Enjoy!

2017 Christmas Sampler Speciality Class - Come and make an awesome Christmas Project!

Whether you are looking for a fantastic home made gift, or just want one of these for yourself.... this is a fabulous Christmas project.  I've put together a bunch of my favourite images and shapes from this year's Holiday catalogue and this Christmas sampler is the result. I'll be running this as a speciality class in my craft studio on the 2nd December at 2pm, and the cost to make it is $45 (includes the shadowbox frame!).  The finished piece is 12"x12" (30cm x 30cm) and then framed to make a great piece for your wall or to sit on display.

I decided to keep the colours simple so went for a black and white palette but there is plenty of sparkle and bling in there as well... as well as a touch of green.

Please note that places are LIMITED for this class!  I'd love you to come and make it with me.. but you will need to be quick.  I hold Classes on the Central Coast in my home studio... address is supplied on booking.

Video Tutorial: Happy New Years Eclipse Card

I don't know about you, but it feels like 2017 has just zoomed by!  And suddenly 2018 is looming just around the corner!  I've had this idea to make this card rattling around in my head for quite some time, and I actually created it last week, but today was the day I sat down to create a video tutorial for you all.    Isn't this a fun card?  Im not one to send "New Years" cards as a general rule, but this one seemed to tick all the boxes for me.  Eclipse cards are so "in" right now, and a couple of people have lamented to me that the Large Letters framelits were a little out of their budgets at the moment... so my answer to that is to get the same effect with the Large Numbers rather than the letters.  And this paper is so gorgeous.... it says "Fireworks" to me... so it really all goes together to make a Happy new 2018 card!

If you wish to purchase any of these items I've included the codes and prices in the video too.  (Or just hop over to the Online Store to order)  I hope you enjoy it and dont forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel if you would like to see more of my tutorials and creations.

Enjoy!

Vintage Christmas with Stampin'Up Australia

This week I am running a couple of card classes and today's class was in the Hunter Valley.  Such a beautiful Spring day to be in amongst the vineyards!  I so enjoy the drive there, and then to spend a fun day creating in a beautiful cafe is the icing on the cake!

At these classes we make 6 cards over the course of the day, and enjoy Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon tea (and coffee!) at the Taste of the Country cafe at Pokolbin.  I've been doing these for some time now, and I really love spending the day with the lovely ladies who come to class.  Really, I do have the best job in the world!

I thought you might like to see one of the cards we made today.  This one has a vintage/antique feel, and yet it is a fairly simple card... using the Merry Music DSP (over which I added a layer of Soft Suede ink with my brayer) and then cut my Gold foil snowflakes in half and added them to the Cherry Cobbler layer. The sentiment is from the "Feeling of Christmas" stamp set.

My ladies today told me that they loved this card. We also played around with the new Stampin' Blends (alcohol markers) - see the cards we coloured with them by clicking HERE.

And my ladies honoured me with some beautiful Christmas gifts that made me feel so special!  Such a surprise!  I am so grateful for their thoughtfulness...  Thank you gorgeous girls!

Dont forget that from Friday 17th November - 30th November you can reserve your Stamparatus positioning tool for delivery in February 2018. You'll reserve it through my online store from Friday onwards.  (You won't pay for it until it is shipped in Feb!)  If you would like to check out the Stamparatus, below is a great little video to tell you how it works and why it is simply amazing!  (And yes its different to what else is out there!)

I'd love to know what you think!!!

Copper embossed Foil Snowflakes for a dramatic but elegant card

Do you have a style... or a "thing" that you think of as yours??   For me its a couple of things... I love Copper, Dioramas and lots of bling/glitter/glimmer/shine.... and you will often see these things popping up in my work.  I think of these things as "mine"... and they definitely are in my comfort zone.

So today's card was a very "comfortable" card for me to make.  Our foil snowflakes come in Silver and Gold, but I wanted copper... so that meant I had to emboss them myself. I used Versamark ink over my snowflakes (on the reverse "non shiny" side) and then sprinkled copper embossing powder on it, before heating it with the heat tool to melt the powder.  I popped them onto a panel of black cardstock and trimmed the excess around the panel.  The copper strip at the bottom of the "Joy" sentiment is one of the metallic washi tapes in the "Year of Cheer" washi.  All up, its a simple enough card, but taking that extra step of embossing the snowflakes and sentiment makes it a little bit special don't you think??

Our current Holiday catalogue will run until the end of the year, and already I know I am going to miss these snowflakes if they retire.  So I'm using them as much as I can!  Make hay while the sun shines right??

I'm off to Melbourne this weekend for the Stampin'Up! Onstage training day.  I LOVE these events.... mostly because I get to catch up with so many of my awesome stamping friends, but also because we will be getting our first look at the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration offerings for 2018.  VERY exciting!

And its a chance to get away and refresh!  Cant wait to share these exciting things with you all.

Enjoy today's card and I'll be back soon.

Easy Colouring with the new alcohol markers from Stampin'Up Australia!

How beautiful are the colours in our new range of alcohol markers!  They are called "Stampin' Blends" and I am LOVING the effects I have been able to achieve with them!

Firstly I have used Light Pink Pirouette for the background and then added my other colours... light and dark in Bermuda Bay and Pool Party, and light and dark in Rich Razzleberry and Pink Pirouette.  I also used a little light Smoky Slate to add shadows to my feather. I love how they turned out!

If you would like to learn how to use these beautiful markers, please come along to class either tonight or tomorrow (click HERE for times and details).  I am looking forward to classes of colouring and creating together!

And Im thinking I might do a Facebook Live video on how to use these too... if that sounds interesting, please head over to my Facebook Business Page and hit the "Like" button so that you will know when I am doing the video. I plan to do this within the next few days.

Stampin' Blends for beautiful colouring from Stampin'Up Australia

As many of you may know, we were excited for the release of the new Stampin' Blends just last Wednesday, November 1st.  This weekend I have the privilege of demonstrating them at the Penrith Craft Show.  I'm so pleased to report that people are so excited about these new Alcohol markers, and the results speak for themselves. Not only are they easy to use, they make you feel like a real artist!  I created the card you see above by simply colouring with several of the autumn tones on our "Just add Colour" speciality DSP.  I also used the light Pool Party marker as a background colour.  I love how it turned out.... and this was actually my first attempt at colouring this paper.  So even though its not perfect, Im still pretty happy with the result. After colouring with them at the show over the past couple of days, I am starting to feel a little more competent, and I think my colouring is getting a little better. But even with my beginner skills, the colours are so vibrant and look amazing.

I've included a list below to show the colours I have used.  (And included a link to the entire collection if you are wanting to purchase them all!)  You can purchase the markers individually ($7.75 each) or in a pack of Light and Dark of the same colour ($15.50 per combo pack) or you can purchase ALL of the markers in all their glory (full set of 26 colours plus the 2 Skin tones and a colour lifter) for $209.25.  For me Whisper White is my favourite cardstock base to use (personally I prefer the  original Whisper White rather than the thick cardstock, but they are both awesome).  I am still experimenting with other cardstocks as well.

For the card above however I really enjoyed colouring on the "Just add Color" DSP... it is fabulous to colour on and you will see me using several of the lovely designs in future posts.  Today I am featuring the leaves.  Aren't they lovely?!

To order your blends (or anything else your Stamping heart desires!) visit my Online Store

If you are around tomorrow, come see us at the Penrith Paper Crafts Show and visit our Stampin'Up stand. I am doing a live presentation of the beautiful Diorama cards at 11am, and will be demonstrating these beautiful Blends markers at various points during the day.  Tomorrow will be the last day of the show!

And of course I have my Blends technique classes next week if you would like to attend my classes here on the Central Coast.  For details click HERE.  At time of writing I have 2 spots left!

Enjoy today's card and stay tuned for more!

Stampin' Blends are here and available NOW!

Today is the day! Stampin' Blends are here... and already the buzz on them is awesome!  I am loving being able to colour and blend with markers again.... and the results speak for themselves!

Today's card is actually a simple one. I've coloured the rose from the "You've Got this" stamp set with the Rich Razzleberry Blends, and the leaves are coloured in Old Olive.  Please note... I won't be making this card in a class!  Reason being that I actually took the time to carefully cut around my image, and I rarely ask my class students to do much in the way of cutting!  But I decided for this card that it was worth it.... and I think the finished card speaks for itself!

The DSP is from the "Whole Lot of Lovely" pack, and I finished the card with a silver embossed sentiment from the same stamp set.

I was really happy with this card!

The blends are available now through the Online Store.... click to see them all!

Next week I am running two classes to show you how to use the Blends.  Details are below:

Tuesday 7th November @ 7.30pm

or

Wednesday 8th November @ 11.15am

Please note that cost for this class is $30 and you will receive a pack of Old Olive markers as part of your class (rrp $15.50).  That makes this class great value!

My classes are held on the Central Coast in my home studio, address supplied on booking.

To book your spot click HERE and let me know.

And if you are planning to visit the Penrith Craft Show this weekend, pop in to the Stampin'Up stand and say hi!  You might even see me demonstrating the Blends there!

Enjoy!
