I'm on the MOVE!!!
Many of you are aware that the past few months have been extremely traumatic for our family. I want to thank so many of you who have been there in a million different ways for us. I am so very grateful to you all.
One of the things I am most grateful for is this wonderful business that I am involved in. Stampin'Up has brought me wonderful friends, and their support, and that of my family and other friends is what has got me through this horrible time in my life, and Im sure will continue to do so.
So, I am taking positive steps to make a fresh start in my life... at the end of this week I am moving to a lovely new home. It's small, but in a great location - closer to school, shops and parks, and we have a lovely big backyard for the kids. Most importantly, it has a fantastic sunroom out the back - perfect for stamping with friends... and that's where you guys come in.
I'm planning on holding an Open House afternoon on Sunday 16th August - to introduce you to my new home, and also to launch the brand new Mini Catalogue that will be released on the 1st August. The afternoon will run from 1pm to 4pm and you can drop in at any time during the afternoon to my house - I will give you the address details when you RSVP. Refreshments and Make & Takes will be on offer, as well as a Lucky Door Prize and specials on the day only. You will need to RSVP so that I can prepare for the number of people who are coming along. There will be a $5 charge to cover my costs. The new house is at East Gosford, so it's only 10 minutes away from my current location. All interested papercrafters, including beginners, are very welcome!
If you bring along a new customer who I have not dealt with previously, you will also receive a $5 voucher to take off your next purchase.
So it's kind of a House Warming/Launch/Open house all in one, and I would love you to come along! It's also a way of saying "Thank You" to my fabulous customers and hostesses.
If you can make it, please email me at higgiz@bigpond.com or you can call me on my mobile which is 0412 375 552.
Finally, please note that I may be off the Internet for a few days whilst I get things set up at the new location. So if I dont get back to you for a few days, you might want to call my mobile to double check that I did receive your email. I will receive any messages sent before the 1st August however.
Thanks for listening guys - brighter days are ahead!

Cranky Old guy with a Big Moustache
Ok.. is it just me?
Every time I look at this flourish - which I adore by the way - I see a Cranky old guys with a massive Moustache. Can you see him? Or am I on something? He's at the very top of the flourish.. in this case I think it looks even more the case because the white dots on the patterned paper are forming a pupil in his eyes!
I was cleaning my craft desk today (yes, you read that right) and suddenly got inspired to create again. So glad because between Family trauma and the school holidays I've been a little lacking in creative mojo of late. SO nice to have it back!
I really like this card - I combined Pink Pirouette with Choc chip and Close to Cocoa cardstock - such a nice combination. The flourish is embossed in white onto the Bella Rose patterned paper. Such a simple card, but effective I think.
If you want information on making this card, or wish to purchase supplies to recreate it, please contact me at higgiz@bigpond.com
Enjoy the card!

Christmas Leftovers... and some new classes coming up
Hello everyone.. I wanted to show you one of the cards that we did at our most recent Stamp-A-Stack. Thanks to all those who came along. After making our 6 cards some of the girls stayed and had some yummy Pea and Ham soup with me (and we shared a Garlic, cheese and herb pull-apart too - I just LOVE those!) before heading off. Thank you for a lovely day girls - I really enjoyed it and hope you did too.
So here is the second Christmas card (that we made 3 of) - I thought it came out really lovely. I used the Snow Swirled stamp set for this card - the background is embossed in silver on Night of Navy cardstock, and the main tree image is stamped in Night of Navy ink on Whisper white. I used vellum cardstock to stamp the sentiment onto. A very simple, but effective card. And after all, simple is good when you're making Christmas cards.. that way you have half a chance of getting them all done.
Another way to get them done is to come along to my Chrismtas Stamp A Stacks - Im running them again this month and every month until Christmas. The cost is $15 and at each class you will make 6 cards (3 each of 2 different designs). It's a great way to get on top of your Christmas cards this year. Each month I will do different designs. All materials are supplied and refreshments provided too. To view dates, please see over on the right hand sidebar under "Upcoming Classes", or contact me at higgiz@bigpond.com
Im also running a Watercolored Roses class next week. Here's a sample of what we'll be making:
I originally was shown this card by the wonderful Vanessa Webb, and I also was inspired to do this class after viewing Patty Bennett's blog in the US. It's a great technique and we'll be making several items with it. Isnt it a great card? The class will be held at my home on the Central Coast NSW on Wednesday night the 8th July at 7.30pm, and will cost $20. I can give you the address details when you book in.
Hope to see you there.
