Anyone for Afternoon Tea??
Stampin'Up's retirement list is out TOMORROW. Please check back here tomorrow 1st August to see what's on offer and what will be discontinued. At this point, we don't actually know what will go and what will stay... so it's all very exciting!
To help celebrate this momentous event I am also holding a retirement afternoon tea this coming Saturday the 4th August... .Come along at either 1pm or 3pm to have a cuppa with me and view the retiring goodies. If you wish you will also have the opportunity to make a small project. I will have my own retiring Stampin'Up stamp collection on display and you are welcome to go through and put your name against the sets and products that you would like to have as your own in September. It will be first in, best dressed. If you are coming I just need to have a rough idea of numbers for catering purposes.
To RSVP just email me by clicking HERE and I will look forward to sharing a cuppa and a chat with you on Saturday. I am based on the Central Coast and can supply the address details when you book in.
I hope you can make it :-)

PS... Today's card is a close up of one I made last Saturday at my team's stamping day. It was made with the "Creative Elements" stamp set... in my favourite colour Pool Party (my favourite colour at the moment anyway!). Hope you like it.

Christmas Stamp-A-Stack this week
Today's card is the first of two card designs we are working with at this week's upcoming Stamp-a-Stack. At every SAS we get to make a total of 6 cards (3 each of 2 different designs) for a cost of $15... the idea is that by making 6 cards every month from now til Christmas you should have quite a decent stash of Christmas cards by the time December rolls around. These are probably my most popular classes - I may need to run extra classes as we get closer to Christmas - but right now classes are already starting to get close to full. I have two of these running this week - Tuesday 24th July @ 7.30pm and Thursday 26th July @ 11am. At time of writing the Thursday class only has a couple of spots left.
If you would like to join us please email me by clicking HERE. I hold my papercraft and cardmaking classes on the Central Coast (NSW) and I can supply the address for you when you book in.
So come along for a fun night... you dont need special skills or materials... beginners are welcome. All materials and refreshments are provided.
I hope to see you there ...

Finding Inspiration
So often I find other beautiful cards and project online and it inspires me to make something using the same elements. It might be the colours, or the technique or the design. Or sometimes a combination of those. Today's card was inspired by a beautiful card on found on Julie Day's blog. I decided to go for a bolder pink and used Rose Red together with Basic Grey and a little white. I love how it came together.
I heat embossed the flowers from the Upsy Daisy set with White embossing powder on the grey background. I used the Big Shot to dry emboss the dotty background. The ribbon is the delectable Rose Red seam binding ribbon... the seam binding ribbons have been my favourite this year. Behind the ribbon you can see the Ribbon Lace border punch. Dont forget you can order any of these products at any time... just email me and I can have your order delivered to you anywhere in Australia for a low postage charge.
I am now off to design a couple of Christmas cards for next week's Christmas SAS... please email me if you would like to join us. There are two dates... Tuesday 24th at 7.30pm, and Thursday 26th at 11am. The cost is $15 and you will make 6 Christmas cards (3 each of 2 different designs). All materials and refreshments are provided.
In the meantime.. enjoy today's card! xx

Acetate Class Take 2
Last night I held a great class with 7 wonderful girls and we got the chance to play with Acetate at my Window Sheet Wow class. Acetate is such a versatile product to craft with and we made three very different projects using it.
Today I thought you might like to see another of our projects.. this one is a cute little box with an Acetate window in the lid... great for putting in items or gifts that people can get a "sneak peek" of before they open the box. I think choccies would be perfect!
I am running this same class again tomorrow (Thursday 19th July) at 11am (lunch is also provided) and I do still have seats left if you are interested in attending. The cost is $20 to attend and includes all materials and refreshments. My papercraft and cardmaking classes run on the Central Coast and most weeks I have some kind of class of some description. Next week we are making Christmas cards.... for the upcoming class schedule click over onto the right hand side of this blog. Prices and dates are listed. You dont need any kind of skill level or special materials or tools to attend.. just come along and enjoy
To book into any classes just email me by clicking HERE I can give you the address details when you book in.
I hope to see you at a class really soon.
And in case you missed it here is another project from tomorrow's class:

Working with Acetate - this week's class
This month's technique class is called the "Window Sheet Wow" class, and that means that this time we are making several projects with Stampin'Up's Window Sheets - or you might know it better as Acetate. Acetate is a really versatile material to work with, and I am looking forward to showing you just a few ideas of what you can do with it. Every time I use it I am always surprised by the result... it gives you something really different, and expands your repertoire of papercraft techniques.
So I thought you might like to see one of the items we are making... this is such a cute card! It certainly has that extra "wow" factor. I used White Stazon to stamp on my Window sheet, and the motif is made with the Apothecary Art stamp set, and cut with the Framelits dies. For a bit of extra bling I used our silver Glimmer paper. Simple to do.. but a great card for someone special. (I took a photo of it on my lounge because I needed the darker background to make the card easier to see.)
My papercraft and cardmaking classes are held on the Central Coast. If you would like to come along to class this week please EMAIL ME and let me know which class you would like to attend. I have two:
Tuesday 17th July @ 7.30pm
or
Thursday 19th July @ 11am
The cost is $20 and you will make 3 projects. All materials and refreshments are provided. I can give you the address details when you book in to the class. At time of writing I still have spots in both classes,
I hope you enjoy the card, and I will be back with more great ideas and projects soon :-)

Simple Tag card
I love the simplicity of a tag. This one is from the "Two Tags" Big Shot die. I stamped my tag with the En Francais Background stamp, and then randomly stamped images from the Artistic Etchings set. I probably should have used the Eiffel Tower stamp... next time I will as that would look cool. I tied the Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon at the top of the tag. The background is also very simple.. I used the Finial Press embossing folder, and then inked over it with Early Espresso ink. I've also used Champagne Shimmer paint over the embossed background, but that is a bit difficult to see in the photo.
And that's it! This is literally a 10 minute card. Gotta love those ones when you want to create something simple and quick. I like how it turned out though...

Collage Frame Class - check this out!
I love this month's project class. Every month I do a new project and this month's is just gorgeous... yes I know, I say that every month... but don't you just love this??
I'm calling it my Collage Frame Project class. For this one I focused on the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper as it will be discontinued at the end of this month (July) and I will really miss it! How good do these colours look together?? If you would like to make one of these frames for yourself, then come along and learn how. Of course, it helps that I have all the tools, and you are very welcome to use them!
I am running this class twice next week. The dates are:
Tuesday 10th July @ 7.30pm
and
Wednesday 11th July @ 11am.
All materials (including the frame itself) are provided and refreshments too. If you are coming to the day class I usually supply a light lunch at the conclusion of the class, which you are welcome to stay for. The cost is $30 to attend. If you would like to come just email me by clicking HERE and let me know. Bear in mind that numbers are limited and so dont wait too long and I am expecting this class to be very popular. At the time of writing this I have 3 spots left in the day class and 5 in the evening class.
If you haven't attended a class with me before I can give you the address details when you book in. My papercraft and cardmaking classes are held on the Central Coast... so if you are anywhere close come along and enjoy the creative process with me!

We still {heart} our hostesses :-)
Last month's awesome hostess offer is still continuing! That means that if you host a workshop (or stamp club) that reaches $650 in sales (and you experienced customers know that this is not difficult to do!) then you will receive an additional $90 of hostess dollars to spend! That's on top of the already generous hostess benefits..... which in the case of a $650 workshop is a total of $190 to spend! And it just goes up from there.
The other great thing about hosting a workshop of this size is that you also receive at least one half-price item. So many of my clients have chosen to buy their Big Shots this way. They get the big shot half price (which means it is only $75) and then they also have all those hostess dollars to spend on dies and other accessories of their choice. It's a fantastic deal, and something you certainly cant beat at the shops!
Of course if the Big Shot isnt your thing (really????) then you can choose anything you like at all with your hostess dollars. But whatever you choose... this makes July an awesome month to host a workshop!
It's easy to do... just email me by clicking HERE to book your date... I'll work with you to come up with a date that suits us both. Then invite your friends and buy a packet of Tim Tams (or whatever snacks you are fond of) and put the kettle on. Workshops are not only an awesome way to get some free stuff.. you'll also learn the latest techniques and ideas, and get to spend some chatting time with your friends. I've been running these for nearly 6 years now, and I still think they are one of the best ways to spend a couple of hours with your friends and have some fun.
And lots of my customers tell me its true. :-) Hope to see you in July!
