Butterfly Frame with Stampin'Up products

Last week I was having a little clean up in my craft room (yes, I know, shocking!) and I came across this little frame that I had left over from a class I had done some years ago.  And I thought it would make a lovely gift for someone if I tizzied it up with some stamps and paper.

So first I used a piece of "Irresistibly Yours" paper from our latest catalogue as the backing piece. I sponged it with Coastal Cabana and Pool Party ink.  Then I stamped the butterfly stamp with white ink on vellum, and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I used the Big Shot to cut the shape with the matching die from the Butterflies framelits.  I adhered one butterfly in the middle of each frame (popped up on a dimensional) and then used a glue dot to add a "Something Borrowed" embellishment to each one.

(Remember that "Irresistibly Yours" DSP is one of the SAB items... that means it is FREE with an order of $90 or more from any of our catalogues!)

The last thing I did was colour the centre of each embellishment with my Coastal Cabana Blendabilities - the colouring made a real difference to the finished result.

All up this project (and great gift) took around 15 minutes to make. And would be a great gift for almost anyone. I think there are lots of little girls (and big ones too) that love butterflies that would love this!

If you'd like to see more of my creations and what's going on you can visit my Facebook Business page by clicking HERE, or if you'd like to come to a class, click on the Class Schedule tab up above to see what's on!

Here's a close up so you can see the coloured Embellishments better....

Masculine Birthday Card... come and make it with me!

Next week I have my monthly Stamp-a-Stack classes.... I try to always run a day and a night event (both the same projects) so that as many people as possible can attend. I have a group that can only make night times (especially those that work during the day) and others that attend during the day as they prefer not to go out at night.  I've been doing this for several years now, and it seems to work well for the majority of people.

Stamp-a-Stacks are always popular.  The second half of the year we always work on Christmas cards, but in this first half of the year I do various options, and often people ask me to do specific types of cards. Birthday cards are always popular, and I also often get asked to create Masculine cards.  So thats what we are doing this time... 3 Masculine birthday cards, and 3 general birthday cards (3 each of the same design). So that means you get to go home with 6 handmade cards that we will create together. Here are the details:

Cost $20Tuesday 3rd March @ 7.30pmor Wednesday 4th March @ 11am

The card you see above is one of the 2 designs we will be working with this week. Its simple, but I love the colours together... Hello Honey. Lost Lagoon and Night of Navy.

Class numbers are limited so don't miss out.  I'd love you to come along! Click HERE to book your spot.

What to do with all those Travel Snaps...

You know how it works... you've been on a fabulous holiday and your camera worked overtime getting all those fantastic photos.  Now its back to reality, but looking through your photos helps you remember some of that magic. Problem is that photos in a box, or on your computer might not actually be helping you retell the story in the way that you want...

Enter Project Life. I don't really call it "Scrapbooking".  Instead I think that "Memory Keeping" is a better name for it.  It helps you organise all those photos and tell their story. It gets old photos out of boxes and off your computer or phone. It looks fantastic and it makes sense!

Of course its not only for travel pics... it might be any occasion that you would like to remember.  But this weekend I am focussing on Travel using a fantastic new card set that we have to offer called "Lets Get Away"! If you are already a seasoned "Project Lifer" then you are welcome to come along and do your own thing and get some pages done.  If you are just getting started, or would like to see how it works, then come along and bring your photos and we'll put some pages together. I'll explain the system, and even show you how to create "Shaker pockets" for your albums.

To do your own thing but to have use of my resources (Big Shot and stamps) it will be $10.  If you need me to set you up with Page protectors and cards then the cost is $20. Come along from 2pm on Saturday afternoon (28th Feb) for a couple of hours of creative time!

Classes are held at Narara on the Central Coast. If you'd like to come along click HERE to RSVP.

Impromptu Project Life Class this weekend

Project Life is something I LOVE to dive into every now and again when I have a little free time. And surprisingly I do have an unexpected free afternoon this coming Saturday the 28th February. So even though its last minute I thought I would get out my Project Life stuff and create some pages... especially as I have just purchased for myself a fantastic new Card Kit, accessory kit and matching Stamp set! (Picture of the cards is above)

This one has a travel theme! If you have lots of holiday snaps that are just screaming to be put into an album then this is the afternoon for you!  Get you photos out of boxes or off your computer and into an album where you can actually enjoy them!

So would anyone like to come along and join me to create? You can either come and bring your stuff and just work on your own, or if you need me to supply you with page protectors/cards/other accessories then thats fine too.

So if you have your own products it will be $10 for the afternoon.. including afternoon tea.  Or if you require supplies from me it will be $20.  I thought I might teach anyone that is interested how to create a shaker frame to go in your PL album :-)

Where? My place at Narara

When? Saturday 28th February from 2pm onwards.

How much? $10 to cover afternoon tea if you are bringing your own supplies. $20 if you require the use of my page protectors, cards, stamps and other accessories.

Take an afternoon out of your busy schedule to come and learn something new to add to your Project Life albums. Or just come and get some pages done! Either way.. you'll have a relaxing afternoon!

Let me know if you can make it by emailing me HERE.

Painted Blooms and Butterflies go together

I really adore all the Designer Series Paper options we have in our latest Occasions Catalogue.. The one i used to create the background on the above card is called "Painted Blooms".  I would like to congratulate the artist at Stampin'Up! who created this paper!  What a lovely set of papers! I just knew I needed to create a card with this paper in the background. The challenge then of course was to add other elements without covering up or losing any of the background. So that made vellum the obvious choice to add.. you still can see a little of the background through it, and so it doesn't really compete for attention!

The butterfly is stamped in white ink with the butterfly from the "Butterfly Basics" stamp set. Then I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder, and then cut it with the matching framelit die .  It really didn't need a lot of elements on the card... not when you have knock-out paper like that!

So enjoy today's offering... and if you'd like to see what else I've been up to, please visit my Facebook Business page by clicking HERE. (And don't forget to like it so that you can come back again!)

Here's a close up of the embossed elements on the card...

Happy Valentines Day!

I made a little card tonight to celebrate Valentines day.  Simple and cute.  I just love that heart punched out of red glimmer paper! That was my starting point. The rest just kind of formed around it.

I hope you have an awesome Valentines doing something that you love.  Even if you find yourself on your own like me (with my man on the other side of the world, the best we can do is Skype) you can still make time to do something that you love. So i did!

Have an awesome day! If you'd like to visit my Facebook page and see what else I've been up to.. click HERE. Don't forget to like my page so you can visit again!

Super simple Valenties card

This week I have given my Stampin'Up demonstrator team a little challenge... to send out a card and share the love with someone at random.  It could be a thank you for someone who has done something you are grateful for, or a get well card to someone who needs cheering up, or just a hello to make someone's day. I don't think Valentines should be just for one's significant other... there are LOTS of people in our lives who would be grateful for just a little kindness... and a surprise "random act of kindness" might be just the thing!

So my team are busy sending out cards to make someone's day, and I'd like to offer the same challenge to my blog readers too! Send out a card or another handmade item to someone who will love to receive it. If you'd like to share with me what you sent or how it was received, please feel free to comment below... or if you are on my Facebook Business page, you can comment there too.

Today's card is a super simple one that I made up just to send out to someone today. Just using different coloured hearts framelits through my Big Shot, and a bit of bling too of course :-) The sentiment is from the "Bravo" stamp set.

I believe that if everyone practiced "random acts of kindness"as a regular thing, the world would be a different place!

Gold and Neutral Palette

Hello everyone!

Today I was mucking around with one of the Masks/overlays from the Artisan Embellishment pack and I added it to a neutral card design. I like the instant impact it gives... in fact Im thinking this would make a lovely die for my Big Shot :-)  We can hope right??

In the meantime, I am very happy with these overlays/masks from our new kit. I'm keeping one to use as a stencil, but I do like this one used on this card.  I added some Sahara Sand lace, and some gold trim to make it special. The sentiment is gold embossed on vellum, and punched with the large Oval punch.

We are having a busy time right now with school having just gone back, and my girl now in High School.  There is so much to remember!  So I haven't been here quite as much, but don't worry... Im sure I will be into the swing of things real soon!

In the meantime.. I'll be making cards to restore my sanity as soon as I can.....
