Christmas Stamp-A-Stack next week... a few spots left!

Im expecting next week's Christmas Stamp-a-Stack to either book out or be very close to it... so if you are thinking you'd like to get a jump on your Christmas cards this year, then this is your chance! I only have a couple of spots left in each timeslot.  We'll be making 6 cards, 3 each of the 2 designs you see here.  Cost to make these 6 cards is $20, and that includes all your materials and refreshments too.

There are always two class times to suit both those that work during the day, and those that have daytimes free.  Classes are held on the Central Coast, NSW.

Tuesday 4th August @ 7.30pm
or
Wednesday 5th August @ 11am

If you have booked yet, then click HERE to RSVP.

I look forward to seeing you!

PS... The idea to use the "Kinda Eclectic" starburst as the candlelight on the blue card was not my idea!  I CASEd it from the very clever card created by Vicky Hayes.. who is one of the members of Stampin'Up's Artisan Design team... isn't that a clever idea??

There's those lovely "Fun Frames" embossing folders that I used on the card above.... ... I love them so get them while the price is down!  (This is actually the card that was the prototype for my Hawaii swaps this year... I ended up changing the colours, but I still like this yellow version ("Hello Honey" is the name of this cardstock colour)

An oldie but a goodie... the Swallowtail stamp and the Emboss resist technique

Even though its been in our catalogue for several runs now, I still love the Swallowtail butterfly stamp.  I've seen it used so many different ways, and it still floats my boat :-)  But one of my favourite ways to use it is embossed and then sponged over... so thats the emboss resist technique.

This time I wanted to try out a new colour combo of Tip Top Taupe, Mint Macaron and  Blackberry Bliss.  I used the taupe as the base cardstock, and then embossed my butterfly with white Embossing Powder.  I sponged the Mint in the centre of the butterfly, and then used the Blackberry on the outside of its' wings.

The washi Tape is from the current Incolor Washi selection, and I used a thin strip of Gold Glimmer paper to finish off the card.  The sentiment is from the set "Awesomely Artistic", but of course you can use any sentiment you choose.

I hope you enjoy this simple card today!

Welcome to the Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop for July!

Hello and welcome to not only my blog but the Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop for July 2015.  The blog hop is a chance for some of the GV achievers to showcase their work.  I'm excited to be doing this for another round, and have something to show you again this month.  And even more excited to work with this talented group of designers!

This month the theme is "Colour Me New" and that means we are showcasing some of Stampin'Up's gorgeous new In Color range. The new colour range are these lovely shades:

This month we were required to use at least two of these colours in our project.. and we could combine them with other colours if we wished. For my card I've used 2 new colours... "Mint Macaron" and "Cucumber Crush", and teamed them up with Night of Navy. I used the new "Color Me Irresistible" Designer Series Paper, and sponged over it with a combination of the Mint and the Navy, then used the Cucumber on the edges of the butterfly.  The lace is also in the Mint. I adore the new "Watercolor Wings" stamps and framelits.. I LOVE that I can cut those butterflies out so quickly rather than doing it by hand. It saves so much time!

[By the way Im also doing a Ribbon Share with the above lace ribbons... click HERE for more details]

So here is my card:

I hope you enjoyed my card today... I enjoyed making it.  Stop by again... or you can visit my Facebook Business page if you'd like to see my other creations. I also make video tutorials regularly, so check those out too.  Click HERE for the link to my Youtube channel.

Here are the basic products I've used if you'd like to order them for yourself!

Creative Downtime... recharging the batteries :-)

I've had a lovely few days away creating and socialising at my friend Vanessa Webb's house... it's lovely to have a bit of "down time" to regroup and plan. It meant that I've been able to update my class schedule, and think about what I want to achieve in the next couple of months.

As always, there is lots coming up right now. Our latest Annual catalogue is now underway, and then in September we will be launching our latest holiday catalogue which is the main Christmas launch of the year.  I cant wait to show it to you! Stay tuned for launch dates and further information.

If you are feeling that you want to get started on your Christmas cards click the class schedule above to see dates and times for classes.  I'd love to see you at a class! Click HERE to book in.

In the meantime enjoy today's card... I made this one with the new colour "Cucumber Crush" as the base card. Im not really a "green" person... so this card challenged me a little, but I decided that even though its different for me, I like it. The butterfly is from the Hostess-Only set "Floral Wings"... I love this set! And I've used 2 other new colours as well.. Mint Macaron and Watermelon Wonder. They look so fresh together!

If you'd like to see more of my creations visit and "LIKE" my Facebook Business Page :-)

I'll be back with more creations to show you soon... Stay tuned!

Faux Metal again.. this time with Watercolor Wings

If you've been following along for a while you would recognize this card... I've already made a couple with the same basic design previously. I like the symmetry of it, so thats why it keeps popping up again. But I've also been teaching the "Faux Metal" technique over the past month or so, and today I am running another class with this fab technique.  So I decided to revamp the card with faux metal as the background. Truth is that there are several ways to achieve a metallic look.. and this is just one.

Its a newish group that Im seeing today, so I hope they like it.

If you'd like to see a quick tutorial on this I will put one together for you. Just comment below if you'd like to see it.... or pop over to my FACEBOOK PAGE and hit the "LIKE" button... you can see more of what i've been creating, and comment to your hearts content if you wish :-)

Have a fabulous day!

Our most popular kit EVER! The Tin of Cards class is running next week!

Here's something interesting... recently Stampin'Up announced that this "Tin of Cards" kit was its most popular kit EVER! It was only released last month when our new catalogue came out and was on backorder by the second day as demand totally exceeded expectations! You might remember I had scheduled it last month but the backorder situation meant that I needed to delay it... so now its time to run it again.

I'll be placing the orders for these kits tomorrow Tuesday 7th July, so if you would like to come along to class and have your own kit to create with, you need to let me know by tomorrow if at all possible. I can't guarantee that I will be able to get supplies in time for orders after this date.  Here are the details of the class if you'd like to come along:

Tuesday 14th July @ 7.30pm

OR

Wednesday 15th July @ 11am

All materials supplied and you'll get to make 16 cards with your kit. The cost of the class (including the tin) is $50.  I don't believe we will get all 16 cards made in the class but we will make all the designs and you can take any leftovers home with you to finish at home.

If you'd like to come along you can call my mobile at 0412 375 552 or you can email me by clicking HERE

Video Tutorial: Minion Party Bags made with the Gift Bag Punch Board!

A while back I created my Minion Circle Thinlit card and made a video tutorial to go with it. That particular video is by FAR my most-watched-ever video! But that was over a year ago now, and we've just had a new catalogue release with the Gift Bag Punch Board in it. How much do I love this punch board??  I've been having a lovely play creating all kinds of different gift bags. But this week I've started making critter gift bags, and it occurred to me that we really need a Minion Gift Bag!  This would be AWESOME for a kids birthday party or other Minion-themed party.

And the best bit is.. its really easy to create!

So of course I made a video to show you how :-)

In the meantime I am running a Gift Bag Punch Board class next week... Tuesday 7th July @ 7.30pm OR Wednesday 8th July @ 11am.  We'll be making a number of different style bags and boxes with the board. You can do the class for $40 which includes the Punch Board OR if you just wish to make the creations but not purchase the punch board then your class is $25.

To book your spot click HERE!

I'll pop back to show you some more Gift Bag creations in the next few days. The boxes range in size from small to large.  But here are a few I've made previously:

Bonus Deals start today... grab a bargain.

Today (July 1st) Stampin'Up released their Bonus Deals... these are new releases to the Weekly Deals PLUS new entries in the Clearance rack. There are great new specials in both these areas of the online store, but there is another reason you need to check them out. In particular the Weekly Deals only have a limited number of items at these reduced prices... once those numbers are reached, the items will return to their regular price!

So this really is a case of "First in, Best dressed"!

Click HERE to go directly to the store. Then you can either order online, or contact me (quickly) to get the ones you want. To be honest though you are more likely to get the deals you want if you are able to order online as its instant.  When ordering through me, you need to wait for me to process and place your order.  I'm still happy to do that.. but if you have your heart set on something at the reduced prices then you might be better getting it through the store as that is quicker.  Postage is still the same.  To contact me email me by clicking HERE or you can call my mobile which is 0412 375 552.

If you are ordering online you may use the hostess code when ordering.. this attaches the orders together. One person who places an order through the store in the month of July will be randomly selected to receive a $25 voucher. It doesnt matter how big your order is.. every online order that uses the code qualifies for the draw!

The card today has been made with the "Lovely Lace" embossing folder as the background piece.  I inked up the folder with crumb cake and placed my Very Vanilla cardstock inside the folder before running it through my Big Shot. This is a great way to get an Antique look to your backgrounds. :-)  And guess what!  That embossing folder is in the deals this week! So if you don't own it, this is a good time to get it!

Here is a graphic of the Weekly Deals for you... items will be removed from the Weekly Deals section of the store as they reach their quota and then return to normal price.
