I was inspired by a project I saw online created by LeeAnn Greff... to see her original idea click HERE.  As you can see her project is quite different to mine, but its easy to see where I found my inspiration! The Grand Vacation Achiever's Blog Hop and bonus Video Tutorial! Seeing 3D!

Welcome back for another month of the Grand Vacation Achiever's Blog Hop! This month's theme is "Seeing 3D" and I am excited to show you a gorgeous 3D project this time :-)  You may have come to my blog via another achiever's blog... welcome!  To visit the next blog on the hop you can go to the bottom of this page and you will find the list of the other demonstrators there... click on the next name below mine :-)

Of course its a Christmas theme as it is November after all!  This is actually the creation I made with my November stamp clubs and they LOVED it!  Now that both of this month's club have made it, I can show you too. I also made a video to show how it is done... its a longer video than my usual ones, but I decided to include instructions on how to make the box itself as well as how to create the window.  (The box uses the Gift Box Punch board)

I suggested to my stamp club ladies that they could use this as a Christmas Table decoration, a gift, or a mantelpiece decor item.  Whatever you choose to do with it, I can promise you that it's a beautiful and different way to celebrate the season :-)

If you live in Australia and you would like to purchase any of the products to make this or any other paper craft project... visit my Online Store by clicking the SHOP NOW button to the right.   Or if you would like to see even more of what I get up to in my creative life.. head over to my Facebook Business page... there's usually something going on there!

And lastly, if you are interested in joining in with a Stamp Club group in 2016 please let me know as I have some spaces opening up.  I am taking names of interested parties at the moment.

Here is the video if you'd like the instructions on how to create it:

The first 5 minutes of the video are dedicated to showing how to create the box with the punch board, so if you don't need to know that bit you can skip the first 5 minutes or so.  :-)

And here is the list of demonstrators taking part in the hop this time.....click on the next name to see whats next and thanks for visiting!

A Baby Pillow Box!

I love it when a product or tool that you love can be used in several different ways!  And our new Square Pillow Box framelit die is one such product!  You can use it as is, add a window or cute embellishments (included with the framelit set) or make it larger.  Or smaller, like the one here!

This is a very cute way to use the die and I'll be showing how to do this at tomorrow's Pillow Box project class. I do still have a couple of spots if anyone is interested... I run my classes on the NSW Central Coast, and I use products from Stampin'Up Australia's gorgeous product line.

Here are the details...

11am Wednesday 25th November. All materials supplied and cost includes a light lunch.  Cost is $25, and you will go home with several completed projects that you have created yourself :-)

If you'd like to join us, please click HERE and let me know. Address details will be given on booking.

And I'll also show you how to alter the size of the box to give you more options when using the die.

The class will be held here on the Central Coast (NSW) at 11am on Wednesday 25th November.  The cost is $25 and includes all materials as well as lunch afterward if you wish to stay for that. To book your spot click HERE.

Video Tutorial: Using Alignment Tabs for Easy Stamping!

Today I was working on some thank you cards to send to my October Online customers and this is what I ended up creating. I used the "Garden in Bloom" stamp set..... this one is in our Annual catalogue and its a great set! So many cute little images with flowers, leaves, butterflies and bees... how can you go wrong? And the sentiments in the set are cute too.

This is a 2-step stamping set, and photopolymer stamps are awesome for 2-step sets (or 3-step or 4-step!) because you can see where you are going with your stamps. However some of our sets have an even easier way to line up the stamps, and that is done with the use of "Alignment Tabs".  I decided that the best way to explain them was to make a video... so you will find that video below.

Here are the supplies I used for this card today.... To order your own supplies visit my Online Store!

Welcome to the November Blog Hop with Project Life by Stampin'Up!

Welcome to another blog hop for the MKPLSU design team! (Thats "Memory Keeping with Project Life by Stampin'Up" in case you didn't know!)  Im excited to be part of the hop again this month and this month our theme was "My Favourite Kit"!  Really though, this theme put me in somewhat of a spin because I LOVE THEM ALL!  Picking one is a bit like being asked to pick your favourite child.. well maybe not quite that bad... but it was tricky!

If I was forced to pick just one, it was still a toss up.  Right now I am really loving the "Seasonal Snapshot" card kit and assessory pack, and you might remember I have shown you layouts with that one a few times lately.  In particular I ADORE the crumb cake (Kraft) coloured cards in that kit. But over the past year, the kit I seem to keep going back to is the "Let's get Away" kit... perhaps that is because its so perfect for Holiday photographs and layouts, and I've had a few of those to show off!  I love that the turquoise in the kit (Bermuda Bay) goes so perfectly with pics of the water,  and the other bright colours make the pages "pop".

So as I've been trying to catch up with my Hawaii trip photos, I thought I'd show you a couple of layouts I've been creating of late.

When you are using Project Life cards.. don't feel that you have to use them "as is".. you can alter them to suit or fit your layout.  So on this page I used the Washi Tape in the accessory kit to tape a 3"x4" journalling card to a 4"x4" patterned piece.. it gave me journalling room on a 4"x4" card, whilst still getting some of the pattern design showing at the sides.  And on the right hand side you can see I used the banner that says "Our Travels".. i actually cut that out of another card because the little banner suited my page.  And once again, I wanted the black and white pattern behind on the 4x4 card.

I did the same thing with the "You are here" card.. which was 3"x4" but I wanted to use it so used washi to attach it to my 6"x4" card.

I hope you are enjoying these layouts... don't forget to click on the links below to see the other design team member's creations this month!

I'll be back to show you lots more really soon!

Reason for the Season for beautiful Christmas cards

If you've been following along for a while you would be aware that I run classes almost every week from my home.  I try to offer a day and an evening class each week.. and this allows me to offer something for various people to work in with their schedules.  Luckily I am able to work around my own schedule as well.. which is one of the things I LOVE about working for myself! I can schedule time off to work around my family and so far this has worked really well, and is definitely one of my favourite benefits of being a demonstrator with Stampin'Up.

The first week of the month is usually when I run "Stamp-A-Stacks"... there are classes where we make 6 cards for $20.  Why so cheap you ask?  Because I only have to design two different cards.. and we make 3 of each.  Designing projects is what takes up a lot of my time in my business (not that it feels like work though!) and so there is less labour in only having to design two cards. I also keep them very simple so that the class will run smoothly and not run over time.

In my last post I showed you the first of the cards for this week's class which was today.  And today I wanted to show you the other card.. this one is the more simple of the two, but my ladies told me that they loved both!

I used the "Reason for the Season" stamp set, and the colours are Wild Wasabi and Real red.  A tiny bit of bling lifts the card from being too "flat".  Its a more traditional colour scheme, but I do like how it came up!

I hope you like it too :-)

PS if you would like to attend this class as an evening class I will be running it again later this month, date to be advised.

Today's card is one of the 2 designs we will be making.  To book your spot click HERE.

To You and Yours Stamps from Stampin'Up - Making Shaker Cards

Its the weekend, and so of course once all the "must do's" are done around the house, I do try to find myself some time to create!  After making shaker cards with the To You & Yours Shaker card kit with my classes this past week, we had so much fun I decided to make some shaker cards of my own.

This one is a straightforward shaker... I stamped the large solid stamp from the "To You & Yours" stamp set onto a piece of Pacific Point cardstock, and cut it out with my Ovals framelits. I then made a window with a slightly smaller oval in a piece of white cardstock, and made a glimmer frame with the same two oval shapes, and attached that to the front of my card around the window. I then attached a piece of acetate to the back of the front piece, and added dimensional strips around the oval, on the inside.

I keep those dimensional sheets when I've finished using all the hexagonal dimensionals. Around the outside of the sheets are those edge bits... these are perfect for using on shaker cards!

A tip though... don't take the backing off the dimensional sheets until you have added your sequins/glitter/beads (whatever shaker materials you are adding) so that they don't stick to the dimensional strips!  Once you've added your shaky stuff, THEN take off the backing and then put the original stamped oval onto the now sticky strips. Put it all together and you done it... made yourself a shaker card!

Here's a close up so you can see the sequins I used for the card... it has different shapes in there.  I really like the stars for Christmas cards!
