Reverse Words coming at you!

Hello everyone!  Today I am showing off one of our new Sale-A-Bration (that means FREE) stamp sets.  We only have one month of SAB left so my suggestion is to go through the SAB catalogue and make sure you have got everything you want out of there... there are some lovely things.  And if that wasn't enough, last week Stampin'Up! released 3 new additions to the free items... and today I am showcasing 2 of those items with this card.

Firstly, the stamp set is called "Reverse Words" and I love the way these stamp!  Its pretty clever actually because they actually stamp a watercoloured look behind the words (see how the image fades around the edges of the stamp??).  In this case I stamped it in Mint Macaron ink, cut around it and then I popped it up on this starburst background that I cut with my BigShot.  You might notice the lovely Mint Macaron glimmer paper that one of the starburst layers has been created with.... yep... that's another free item too.  The glimmer papers are already sooo popular..... this 6"x6" assortment includes 12 sheets and comes in 3 lovely colours.... Mint Macaron, Sweet Sugar Plum and Bermuda Bay!  Like this:

How does it work?

There are several ways to benefit from SALE-A-BRATION.....

1. For every $90 you spend you get a free SAB item of your choice

2. If you host a workshop (party) before the end of March and have sales of $400 or more you will receive an extra $40 of hostess benefits on top of the existing benefits!

3. If you join StampinUp as a demonstrator (our kit costs $169 and you can order $235 worth of products of you choice!) you will also be able to choose 2 FREE STAMP SETS (any value!) to add on top of your kit!  Now THAT'S a bargain!   If you would like to receive an ongoing discount on all your future purchases and to be part of a group of papercrafters that love to share then ask me for an information pack!

But there's not much time left to get your hands on these deals!  SAB 2017 comes to an end at the end of March!

Vintage Glam with the Special Reason stamp set

Hello and welcome to my blog!  Here in Australia its a cool and rainy day... so perfect for crafting actually. I've done some cooking too and generally pottered around the house.

This is a card I created this afternoon whilst preparing for a workshop tomorrow.  I ADORE the new SAB glimmer papers that have just been released this week and have been using them at every opportunity.  I actually ran out of the Bermuda Bay glimmer earlier in the week, but have decided that  the Sweet Sugar Plum and Mint Macaron ones are equally as nice to play with (and I have more of the blue on order haha).  So today you are seeing me play with the Sweet Sugar plum glimmer paper (to see another example click HERE)... and this colour combo with Tip Top Taupe is (in my opinion) to die for!!!

I used the Special reason bundle for the flowers... i love how this clever framelit set produces both negative and positive images to use on your projects.  Details of all the products I used are below.

These glimmer papers (and other SAB items) are free with every $90 order you place!  But only until the end of March, and then they are gone.  To order, visit my ONLINE STORE.

I hope you like my little card.... back with more for you soon.

Vintage Card with new SAB products!

Today I finally had a little time to sit down and create my first card with the "Make a Medallion" stamp set... this is a Sale-A-Bration (SAB) set which was released just yesterday and it adds to the SAB products that were already available. So this means that we now have even more free products on offer!  Awesome!

I decided I wanted to create a vintage feel to my card,  The (also new) Glimmer paper was perfect inspiration... I chose the Sweet Sugar plan glimmer and paired it with Sweet Sugar Plum and Tip top taupe cardstock. The DSP piece at the bottom of the card is from the gorgeous "Falling in Love" paper pack, and I also added a little vanilla lace to complete the Vintage look. I've included a product list below should you wish to purchase any of these items or create a similar project of your own. If you live in Australia you can purchase any of these items through my Online Store.  Or just click on any of the items you would like below :-)

Here's another shot of the Medallion to give you a closer look:

I hope you enjoy this cute card..... why not give the Vintage look a go too??

Thailand Achievers Blog Hop for February - NEW SAB items are OUT!

Welcome to my blog and to this month's Thailand Achievers Blog Hop!  This is a fun blog hop where some of the achievers of this year's StampinUp incentive trip are getting together to showcase this month's theme... which is.... (drum roll please)

NEW SALE-A-BRATION ITEMS!

Just in case you didn't know, StampinUp have released several more items to add to their Sale-A-Bration product offering.  If you'd like to see them all, you can click HERE to see the product flyer. There are two cute stamp sets and also (my personal favourite) an assortment pack of glimmer papers in a 6"x6" size!  And yes, they are still free with a $90 order from any of our catalogues!

I've been using these sets already in my craft studio for the past couple of weeks, and I am loving all the cool stuff you can do with them.  But I really wanted to show off what I did in my Cupcakes and Carousels class tonight.... I made cupcakes (how could I not?) and it was a family affair to put them together. My 11 year old, Ben, helped me colour the horses and also cut the glimmer paper circles for the toppers. My 14 year old, Emma, made the icing and iced them, and arranged them on the plates. You can see I used the new Bermuda Bay glimmer paper (my favourite!) behind some of the horses, and yes this is one of the new SAB colours!

There was another reason it was a special class. I had a special guest!  Rich Jutkins, the President of StampinUp (in the US) is in Australia this week, and took the time to attend my class.  It was a real honour to have him attend. I love that StampinUp is interested in what their demonstrators are actually doing on the front line, and that they take the time to see that for themselves!  How many companies do that do you think? Im guessing not many!

Here's Rich and my daughter enjoying a cupcake together...

And here is our class hard at work.... (Have you been to a class lately?? You should check them out! They are always fun and we get creative with lots of different stuff!)

I couldnt help but use the glimmer papers in our projects tonight... here are the cards we made:

And here are the glimmer papers themselves, showing off these gorgeous colours!

Even the supply bags were stamped with new SAB stamps... I love the way these words stamp!

If you live in Australia, and you are after StampinUp product to purchase for yourself you can visit my Online Store.  It's a great way to do your shopping and items are shipped directly to you, anywhere in Australia! Or if you prefer to order with me directly you can email me HERE.

To keep hopping, just click the next name in the list after mine..... it's fantastic to see how many different ideas everyone comes up with!  I hope you enjoy the hop!

Sneak Peek of new SAB releases - available 21st Feb 2017!

Just a quick post to introduce you to something that is coming your way this week... its a second SAB release with 3 lovely new items on offer... here is the first one (and my personal favourite): the new Glimmer Paper Assortment! This is available in a 6"x6" size and contains these 3 colours: Mint Macaron, Sweet Sugar Plum and Bermuda Bay.  They are rather delicious!

On the above card I've paired the Sweet Sugar Plum glimmer with the Avant Garden flower (also a SAB set) stamped around the corners in Sweet Sugar Plum ink. I cut the rectagle from our Stitches Shapes framelits but used a little trick to get it to be a rectangle rather than a square.  Cute huh??

Here's a close up where you can see the glimmer paper better:

If you live in Australia and you want these papers you will be able to get them free with a $90 product order either through me directly OR through the Online Store.   The glimmer paper becomes available on Tuesday 21st February... but the Avant Garden set is available now :-)

Enjoy!

Cupcakes and Carousels for next week's classes......

Next week I am running a product focus class.... when I pick a favourite suite of products from our catalogues and build a class around them.  These are some of my favourite classes because I get to choose what I love to work with, and share it with you.  The possibilities are endless of course.  But this time I have chosen one of my favourites... the Cupcakes and Carousels suite of products.  The hard part of making these classes is that I have so many ideas it's really hard to choose which projects we will make!  But one of our projects is a gift bag, and you can see it in the picture above.

The thing is, this is not my idea or even my artwork.  One of the things I love about being a demonstrator is that we can run our business however we like, but StampinUp provides us with so much great training and so many fresh ideas.... and we are welcome to use them all. I've copied this bag design almost exactly from a training email we received just this week (they come through weekly) and loved it so much I thought it would be great as one of our class projects.

People often ask me.... how do you come up with all your ideas?  And for those thinking of joining, I know its a concern... they worry that they aren't creative enough.  But the truth is that there are so many ideas available to us.... copying from the catalogues, Pinterest, Blogs, and training from StampinUp too.  We have 2 training days per year that all demonstrators are welcome to attend, plus we have Online resources and weekly emails too.  We are never left without resources to run our businesses.

And there is also the sheer joy of creating something yourself.  It is so satisfying to use a stamp set or other products in a new and different way.  I sometimes set aside days to just create and enjoy that feeling.  Those are my favourite days, and I am so grateful that StampinUp gives me the opportunity to create just for me (and for you too!)

If you'd like to come along to my Cupcakes and Carousels class next week I have two timeslots.... Tuesday evening (21st) at 7.30pm or Wednesday daytime (22nd) at 11.15.  We'll be making 3 projects  (this bag is one) and the cost is $25.   Im looking forward to a great class next week and I hope you can join us!  I run my classes on the Central Coast in my home studio, so places are limited.

To book a spot, click HERE and let me know you are coming along.  For those unable to make it to class, stay tuned... I have an Online Class coming up using these products.

Watercolour Pencil Technique classes this week!

This week I am running our monthly technique classes, and this time we are working with Watercolor Pencils.  I have to say these were my NUMBER 1 item on my Occasions Catalogue wish list.... I knew they would be popular and i knew I wanted them!  For those that remember, we used to have Watercolour Pencils in our catalogue, but we had been missing them for several years now.  I am so glad that they are BACK!

And not only back, but with a noticeable difference..... this time the colours are actually in co-ordinating StampinUp colours! So its not just "blue"... we have "Pacific Point".   Which of course makes co-ordinating them to our beautiful yardsticks (and other items) super easy!  Hooray!

Today's card is one created for this week's class.... and i used the pencils to colour the watercolour paper background, before spritzing it with water to enable the colour to activate and move.  Once dry you can use this background technique for a myriad of designs... here I've used the Flourish Thinlits to add a white floral design over the top.  I was really happy with how this turned out!

Hopefully I'll see you at class tomorrow (i can still squeeze in 2 more people if anyone would like to join us!).... here are the details just in case:

Wednesday 15th February @ 11.15am  (Central Coast location)

Cost is $25 to make 4 projects.  Refreshments, lunch and all supplies included.

If you would like to book a spot contact me at lindastampsau@gmail.com or you can contact me on my mobile which is 0412 375 552.

I'd love to see you!

A colour challenge with a twist....

So I was chatting with a group of demonstrators online last week. And as sometimes happens, we were talking about StampinUp colours.... which ones we liked and which ones we found challenging. Turns out we are all different and so colour choices varied wildly!   I mentioned that I find So Saffron difficult to use.... its not a favourite of mine.... and another demonstrator commented that she uses it ALL the time and was justifiably quite indignant at my reluctance to use it.  Her response was that it made her want to make me a card in all So Saffron!  Of course I dared her to do it..... and suddenly the challenge is ON.  So the twist for us is that we are using colours that are not necessarily easy to use.... well thats my take on it anyway... you may feel differently!

Of course it wouldn't be right for me not to respond in kind... so I asked what is her least used colour so I can make her a card with that colour!  The result is the card you see here today.... I've used mostly Flirty Flamingo to create this one.... that's the colour that she nominated as her "struggle colour".  I haven't used a huge amount of Flirty Flamingo myself, but was up for the challenge!

I used our Lace Doilies as a mask to create the sponged background, and then added another doily over the top, embossed in gold. I added a small strip of patterned paper from our Incolor Paper stacks (in Flirty Flamingo of course), and a sentiment from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set on the Whisper White strip... which I also embossed in gold.  For a little vintage appeal I added a strip of stamped lace with the Delicate Details stamp set along the base of the white strip.   I actually think that this card worked out pretty well... especially with a colour that I don't use often, but I think this design would work in nearly any colour!

I've included a Product List below should you live in Australia and wish to purchase any of these products for yourself.  I'll be off to the post office to pop this card in the post for Lyssa tomorrow... she lives in the US so it will be a while before it arrives, and I want to get it mailed ASAP.  I hope she likes it!
