Snowy Christmas Diorama card

Tonight I had my Christmas stamp club group in my studio and we made these cute Diorama cards.  As you might know, Diorama Cards are one of my favourite card types, and I make them quite a lot!  In fact I've previously made 2 video tutorials to show how they are made... and you can find the links to those HERE and HERE.

For today's card I used the Hometown Greetings dies for my snowy scene at the back of the card... and I also featured the gorgeous "star swirl" stamp from the "Star of Light" stamp set (I heat embossed it in white).  The silver glimmer trees are cut with dies from the "Card Front Builder" dies, and the window shapes are cut with the "Lots of Labels" framelits.  So there is quite a bit of Bigshot action on this card.

Apart from the Big Shot dies though, this card is quite simple to put together... not nearly as hard as it might look. If you would like to have a go, definitely watch one of the previously mentioned video tutorials.

And if you are around on the weekend of the 3rd - 5th November, you might like to head out to the Penrith Papercraft Festival.  I'll be there with some of my demonstrator friends on the Stampin'Up stand.  Im also going to be doing some Live Presentations on stage each day... and guess what I'm going to be presenting.... yep..... Diorama Cards!  So if you'd like to see me make these, definitely plan on being there for my presentations.....Im on at 11am each day.

And if you cant make it to Penrith, and cant make it to class... definitely check out the Youtube channel for lots of inspiration!

Musical Season Bundle with a soft watercoloured background

Hello papercrafters! Today I am working on designing some cards for the upcoming Penrith Papercraft Show which is on the first weekend in November.  (If you would like more information about the show click HERE)  Im working with some of my Demonstrator buddies to put this show together and we are looking forward to a great weekend of creating and inspiration.... if you are able to make it we'd love to see you!

Each of us is working on different suites of products for the show. One of the ones I am doing is the "Musical Season" bundle.... and you might already know that this is one of my favourite bundles from the current Holiday catalogue!  Today's card is made with this bundle of stamps and framelits and it is just the kind of card that I love to make.  I've used the Watercolour block technique for the background in Soft Sky ink, and I love how it came together with just the one colour and a few elements. I've included a product link below for you should you wish to purchase any of these items... but I'm thinking that I might show off this technique in a video as its pretty cool.  What do you think??

Enjoy the card and I'll be back again soon. Maybe I'll even see you at the Penrith Papercraft show!

Video Tutorial: Eclipse Card for Breast Cancer Awareness

As it is October, I thought it fitting that this card was designed with Breast Cancer Awareness in mind.  Eclipse cards are extremely popular right now, and this card has a beautiful message of hope.

Originally I recorded this as a Facebook Live video on my Facebook Business Page.  But you can also watch it here in this Youtube video.  The tutorial shows you how to make this simple card, and I hope you enjoy it.

Here is the video:

Copper Reindeer gets the Mixed Metallics Washi treatment!

If this card looks a little familiar, thats probably because I made a very similar card last year that I really loved.  That one was in Red and White washi, with a Dazzling Diamonds glimmer reindeer... click HERE to see it.  This year I've redone it with the Mixed Metallics trend.... so my washi tape is all kinds of metallic bling, and I've paired it with a copper reindeer this time. I have to say Im pretty happy with the result.... Mr Reindeer looks very shiny and regal in copper don't you think??

Let's just say that the best cards are often the simplest :-)

I've included a product list below for you should you wish to purchase any of these items for yourself.  I also used the Timeless Textures stamp set for the little dotty grunge background stamp.  The sentiment however came from the "Merry Patterns" stamp set... which is a current "gift with purchase" when you are putting an order through of $450 or more (or a workshop hostess would also receive that set for free for group orders over $450 aud.

Im still having technical difficulties with uploading videos to my computer, so I'll be doing something live over on my Facebook business page in the next day or so.  If you haven't already... head over there and hit the "like" button so that you see when I am live!

Enjoy!

Feeling of Christmas in Grey and Silver

Today I was preparing for a larger class that I will be running in the Hunter Valley later in the week and I chose this little silver and grey card as one of my designs.  I've done a few cards with this "Feeling of Christmas" stamp set, but my favourite thing to do with it so far is to get out my white gel pen and colour it in!  Not only does the white pen highlight the design, but it looks so soft against this Smoky Slate grey.  Add a touch of silver and you have a simple but beautiful card!  I've included a product list of what you need to make this card at the bottom of this post.  The white gel pen is not from Stampin'Up however.. you can buy it at your local craft store. It is a Uniball Broad Tip pen.

I did a video recently showing how to do white gel pen colouring and you can watch it HERE.  And below are a couple of other cards that I did a few weeks back, with the same Feeling of Christmas set but in different colours.  As you can see, they all look great... its up to you to decide how you want to do it.  Enjoy!

Video Tutorial: How to make a Quilted Pizza Box

Today we are making quilted pizza boxes!  I actually created this video earlier this week as a Facebook Live video... I do these on my Facebook Business page from time to time (if you are not a follower of my page click HERE to visit and then make sure you hit the "like" button), and they seem to be very popular.  But this week I became even more reliant on the Facebook videos because I've been unable to upload videos from my phone to my computer.... so I used the Facebook live format instead.

Technology is a wonderful thing..... when it works..... sigh.

But I simply HAD to show you how to make these cute little boxes.  I love them!  Today's version shows off the gorgeous Quilted Christmas suite and you will love it too!

So check out the video... its a little longer than I would normally do, but I'm sure you will enjoy the project.  And don't forget to make yourself a cuppa to share with me whilst you are watching!

Enjoy!

Eclipse Cards are hot right now! Come to class and see why!

It's the second week of the month and that means we are doing Technique classes this week.   The technique this month is the "Eclipse Card technique".  If you've been checking out blogs and Pinterest boards of late you may have notice these cards.... they really are quite stunning and are yet quite simple to create.

So this week we will be making 3 lovely projects and you are seeing one of them here on this page.  I've used the Night in Bethlehem stamp set as my focus set, and I love how it turned out. I actually borrowed this idea from a card I saw online by the very clever Randi Collins who is a demonstrator in the US.  My card is quite similar to hers although I've put my own spin on it of course :-)

Class times are as follows:

Tuesday evening @ 7.30pm
or
Wednesday daytime @ 11.15am

All materials, tuition and refreshments provided for a cost of $25

If you would like to join us click HERE to reserve your spot. At time of writing there are still a couple of spots available in each class.

I hope to see you there!

Eclipse Card for a Wedding

If this card looks familiar... it was inspired by the previous card on my blog (click HERE to see it).  Same colours, same simple embossing. However this card has been given the "Eclipse" treatment.... and I really like the result!  This card would be great for a wedding or anniversary... and it really does have that "wow" factor!

The Eclipse Technique is all the rage right now... I am seeing these cards everywhere!  And there is no limit to the different ways you can do them.  But they are LOTS of fun to make... so much so that I decided to make the Eclipse technique our class technique this month.  I have two classes (details and times below) and you can choose between the evening and the daytime time slot.

If you would like to join us for one of my classes please contact me by clicking HERE and book your spot.  Classes are held at my home in Narara, and the address will be supplied after booking.

Class details:

Cost : $25

Tuesday 10th October @ 7.30pm
or
Wednesday 11th October @ 11.15am.

All materials and refreshments provided. I hope to see you there!

Embossed Elegance for a simple wedding card

Today I pulled out an old favourite stampset because its been a while since I used it.   This lovely flower  can be used in so many ways, but I wanted to just emboss it today.  I used a base cardstock of Sahara Sand, and embossed the image in silver.  I added a little black and white ribbon for drama (and of course a strip of Silver glimmer paper to set it off).  The sentiment is also embossed and comes from the Cheers to the Year stamp set.

I actually really love this simple card!  Here's a closer shot:

I've included a product list below if you would like to purchase any of these items for yourself... just click on the image of the product you are interested in. Or click HERE to visit the Online Store... items are shipped straight to you, anywhere in Australia.

I'll be back again soon!
