Happiness Surrounds Sneak Peek

In case you havent heard, on November 1st Stampin'Up are releasing a new suite of products called the Snowflake Showcase suite.  To be honest, I kind of wish they had called it something else... because it is a suite that is so much more than just snowflakes.  And here in Australia, thats important to a lot of people.  I've heard many times from customers that they dont "do" snowflakes at Christmas time.  Of course there are those that DO... me being one of them. I mean they are so pretty.... and when else do we get to use them?  I dont want to spend a life time not using snowflakes when they are so beautiful!

Having said all that... some of the products in the suite are not snowflake related.  For example, one of the sets is called "Happiness Surrounds"... and it is made up of a series of floral images as well as some cute sentiments.  AND it also matches the framelits in the suite... these are called the Snowfall thinlits.  So you can cut flowers and springtime elements with the framelits as well as die cut snowflake shapes.  The best of both worlds really!

The framelits feature 20 different dies.... and they can be used for a range of different types of cards.  Today I have used both the Happiness Surrounds set as well as the Snowfall thinlits on this simple little congratulations card.  I stamped my larger flower shape in Versamark and then embossed it in clear embossing powder.  I then sponged over it with Pineapple Punch ink.  I added a layer of gold starry washi tape and then my other die cut elements.  The larger die cut flower is cut from Black Foil, and I added a couple of the smaller flower from the set, and sponged the edges of that with Pineapple Punch ink.  I used a couple of embellishments to finish it off... some gold metallic thread, and a black faceted dot in the centre of the larger flower.

I love putting together little cards like this... the different elements work so well together! I hope you like it too!

A little Country Reindeer with the Festive Farmhouse DSP

Hello crafty friends... I decided to create this little card yesterday with the Festive Farmhouse paper. I love to combine suites or sets and I love how the tapestry design on this gorgeous reindeer from the Dashing Deer set works so well with the Festive Farmhouse papers.

The reindeer himself is stamped in Black Stazon ink on Champagne Foil paper.. doesnt he come up beautifully?? Of course I used the matching framelits to cut him out perfectly.  So glad not to have to cut him out by hand!!!

And just because I could, I also snuck another suite of products in there for good measure.  We have a whole new suite of products coming out on the 1st November... it's called the Snowflake Showcase suite, and it features a fabulous bunch of products that you will LOVE!  I used the "Snow is Glistening" stamp set to create the little cascade of snowflakes at the top of my background, and also the "For You" sentiment which is from the same set.

If you would like to see more of these products, I featured the whole suite on my Facebook Live video today... and showed just a few ways to use these sensational products. (Especially that new White Velvet paper.... its really versatile and you are going to love that touchy-feely velvety-ness)  So hop over to my Business Page to check out these gorgeous products!

I hope you like today's card, and I'll have lots more coming your way!

Sneak Peek at the Snowflake Showcase suite

In November Stampin' Up are releasing this gorgeous bundle of products for us to play with... introducing the Snowflake Showcase suite.  Today I have used one of the stamp sets (called "Snow is Glistening"), along with the matching framelits to create this simple but effective card.  Getting a new set is always exciting.... even I dont know what Im going to create sometimes. I just start, and it takes shape as I work.

For this card I started with the stencil of the snowflake.  I had cut the snowflake for another card, and then decided to use the stencil that was left over as the beginning point for this card. I sponged Mint Macaron ink inside the snowflake shape, and then I added the green snowflake flourish die cut in the same coloured cardstock.  Using Mint Macaron ink again I stamped a few random snowflakes in the background, and added those cute teeny tiny snowflakes in the darker Tranquil Tide ink.  The "Merry" is die cut from Champagne foil with the Merry Christmas thinlits, and the "Christmas" is from the matching stamp set, which I punched with the Classic Label punch. Lastly I added a few basic rhinestones.  I think the whole card ended up looking quite whimsical and spontaneous... which it kinda is!

If you love snowflakes you are going to love these items.  There is also another stamp set in the suite which is more of an "all year round" set.... they are more like stylised flower shapes.  Its called "Happiness Surrounds".  I'll be posting more cards made with these new products both here on the blog and of course even more often on my Facebook Business page. Make sure you have "liked" the page so that you can see my creations as I post them!

Here's a close up of my card today.... I hope you like it!

Clean and simply stamped Scrapbook Layout

I was actually a scrapbooker before I ever made a card!  I fell in love with scrapbooking when my first child was only about a year old. I was recovering from Post Natal Depression and it was suggested to me that it would be good to find a hobby... something creative to occupy myself with.  As many of you would know having your first bubby is sometimes a trying time, and crafting with other Mums is cathartic in so many ways!

Fast forward to several years later and I had a second child who was almost a year old... thats when I discovered Stampin'Up!  I loved it as soon as I saw it... the products were high quality and I loved the whole co-ordination thing that Stampin'Up does so well.  No more having to scour craft shops to find the right shade to match a page... it was already right there with Stampin'Up. Plus, I thought maybe I could make enough money to cover my scrapbook habit, which was considerable.  I didnt want to be taking money out of the family budget.  So I joined as a demonstrator to get my own supplies at a discount AND to make a bit of extra money.  I promised I would earn back the price of the demonstrator kit.

Which happened within the first month! I was stunned.... but I was having so much fun with it, I just decided to run with it and see what happened.

12 years, 11 incentive trips, hundreds of awesome friends and a ton of fun later, here I am!  My little decision to join Stampin'Up ended up changing my life!

I still scrapbook (as you can see) as well as make all kinds of papery projects.... all of which I enjoy and still provides me with that creative outlet I wanted from the start.  I have never regretted my decision, and if you are reading this, then you will know that I LOVE what I do! I cant imagine doing anything else!

The page above today is one I created for my bi-monthly Scrapbooking Class in the Hunter Valley.  I used one of the lovely stamp sets in our Holiday catalogue (Beautiful Blizzard) to create a backdrop of my photo, and also added in the "Love you to Pieces" bundle, which is perfect for romantic pages or for any page all about love.  My ladies loved it, and changed the colours to suit their photos where necessary.  Even though Beautiful Blizzard was created with a snowy theme in mind, I think it works well for all kinds of occasions.

I hope you love it too!

Winter Woods meets Emboss Resist

One of the sets that I dont actually own from our current Holiday Catalogue is the one I have used today... its called Winter Woods, and I really love the trees in this stamp set.  I also had plans to use the Christmas tree in the framelit set... so I borrowed this bundle from a friend.  This card today is the very first card that I sat down to create with my borrowed set.

I embossed the trees with Clear embossing powder on Shimmery White cardstock, before brayering over the top with a couple of my favourite blues.  I've included a product list below should you wish to recreate this card for yourself.... and if you make sure you are following my Facebook Business page, I'll also be featuring this card in a Facebook live video there in the next few days.  Even if you miss the live, you can always watch the replay.

This card has been really popular on both Instagram and on my Facebook page.... so I am sure the video will be popular too.

The product list is below. If you wish to purchase any of these items for yourself, you can contact your Stampin'Up demonstrator who will be sure to assist you.  Or if you dont have a demonstrator, and you are in Australia, you are welcome to shop in my ONLINE STORE.  We have so many beautiful co-ordinating products, sure to light your creative fire!

Enjoy!

More Beautiful Baubles Coloured with Stampin' Blends

Just a quick one for you today.... I sat down on the weekend and made this Christmas card. I've been wanting to colour in my Beautiful Baubles set for a while.... and here you can see that I've embossed the baubles in Silver, before using my Blends alcohol markers to colour them.  I love how it turned out.

The blends colours I used are Mint Macaron, Call me Clover and Bermuda Bay.  I also used light Pool Party to colour the background.

I hope you like my card.... stay tuned for more card creations. (And if you are interested in getting yourself some fantastic Video Tutorials this month click the "Video Tutorial bundle" tab above!)

Making Christmas Bright... literally!

One of the cutest bundles we have in our new Holiday Catalogue (2018) is the Making Christmas Bright bundle.  The bundle consists of a Stamp set called "Making Christmas Bright" PLUS an awesome punch called the Christmas Bulb punch.  Of course these items are available separately, but if you are purchasing them together as a bundle, you save 10%.... and who doesn't want to save a little right??

So today Ive created a cute and simple card with this awesome bundle.  I used bright happy colours and tried to give the impression of party lights.  But what gives this card an extra "wow" is the circle of yellow light behind each of the punched lights.  I used our new yellow called "Pineapple Punch" for this, and simply sponged an oval of yellow before placing each of my punched lightbulbs over the top. Doesnt it look cute??

I've included a product list below should you wish to purchase any of these items for yourself!

Enjoy the card and I'll be back with more for you soon!
