Lots of Butterflies for Sale-A-Bration 2019
We are just days away from our about-to-be-released Occasions catalogue and Sale-a-Bration (SAB) for 2019. And that means I am getting excited! So many exciting new products and ideas to show you.... and so today I thought I'd show another sneak peek of what you can get your hands on from January 3rd.
One of the things you will see a lot of in these new catalogues are butterflies! We have stamps, punches, framelits, papers and even buttefly embellishments. Some of these are in the Occasions catalogues, and some are in the (free) SAB catalogue. On this card I have featured the gorgeous new SAB paper called "Botanical Butterfly" (free with a $90 order!), and then I also used the new Butterfly Duet punch (from the Occasions catalogue) to punch 2 butterflies from the same paper. Believe it or not, the Organdy ribbon is also an SAB item - it comes in a pack of 5 different colours of ribbon. Harder to see, but I also used our new Rectangle Stitched framelits to cut the gingham rectangle. and the word "friend" is from another framelit set called "Well Written". I know thats a LOT of new product on one card, but I really liked how the card came together.
Here's a pic I took of the Rectangle Stitched framelits this morning... how awesome are they???
From January 3rd you will be able to order all of these new items.... and of course many more. If you are in Australia, and you dont have a copy of these new catalogues yet, please be sure to click HERE to request one. And if you'd like to see more samples and ideas from the catalogue... make sure you head over to my FACEBOOK BUSINESS PAGE..... I update there daily so that you always have beautiful fresh projects and ideas to check out and use for inspiration!
As its the last day of 2018 I wish you well and hope that 2019 is a beautiful year ahead! Happy New Year from our home to yours!

Sneak Peek at a new Bundle.... the Geared Up Garage!
Today I wanted to give you a little look at one of our awesome new products that will be out in the upcoming Occasions catalogue. This awesome suite of products has been designed with the Men in our lives in mind.... its called "Classic Garage" and there is a whole suite of products for anyone who loves cars! The stamp set and framelit bundle itself is called "Geared up Garage", and there is also matching "Classic Garage DSP (6" X 6"), as well as black and silver metallic ribbon and a awesome pack of metal elements. You can see most of these (except the metal elements) on my card today, and I think it packs a punch dont you??
I love that even though the colours are strong and masculine they are not drab or boring. Strong greys and blacks have been paired with bright reds, greens and yellows. So there is plenty of strong colour. I also used the Garage gears framelits to cut the gears from silver foil paper.... I used them in the background as you can see. The black splatters behind the cars resemble oil spots... doesn't it look cool?
You'll be able to order these awesome products from January 3rd.... and dont forget its Sale-A-Bration so that means that for every $90 order you'll get to choose a fabulous SAB product! Its the best gift-with-purchase offer around! (And dont forget that we still have our retiring Holiday catalogue running until the 2nd January... so make sure you visit the ONLINE STORE and check your favourites before they are gone. You'll find them under "Close outs" in the store.

Scrapbook Layout with textured circles
I made this scrapbook layout for a class this month, and I thought you might enjoy it too. I wanted to scrap some photographs of my daughter's end of year event last month, and this was one of my favourite photos of the two of us that night.
For the background I again used the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set - I LOVE those grungy stamps that work so well for backgrounds! But sadly this stamp set is on our retiring list so that means it will be discontinued after the 2nd January (unless sold out prior). If you are looking for a fabulous background stamp set, you really want to check this one out! I used the largest grunge stamp with Balmy blue ink, and stamped it full strength and then "stamped-off" to get the different tones. I also used the smaller grunge stamp with Blueberry Bushel ink, and the small dotty stamp as well. These are all from the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set.
I cut the "Happy" from the Merry Christmas framelits - also in our current Holiday catalogue. This set won't be discontinued, so we'll look forward to seeing it in next year's Annual catalogue out in June 2019.
The circles used the Brushes on Embossing folder technique again.. I've done this before, but I LOVE it with the Curls and Swirls embossing folder! This folder is one of my favourites, and yes it will be in the next Annual catalogue too.
A quick "how to" on this technique is.... on the inside of your chosen Embossing folder sprinkle a small amount of Brusho. Then spray liberally with water (I use a spritzer for this) and then place your piece of paper inside. Then run through the Big Shot.... the result is different every time. Doesn't it look great?? For the ones here I used the Blue Brusho, with just a little bit of yellow to make a greenish tinge in places.
I also added a few silver foil circles from the Eastern Medallion framelits set.

Sunset Reindeer Card
This week I did a Brayering workshop by request for one of my awesome customer groups. Brayering is one of my fave techniques so of course I said "Sure!". The card you see above was one of our projects for this class. Its actually quite simple... a brayered background in sunset colours, and then simply stamped over the top in Black ink.
For my sunset colours I used.... Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Berry Burst and Blackberry bliss. The good news is that you can use any variant of these colours and it will still work. SO basically any yellow, orange, pink and purple. I say just experiment and have fun with it! I will be doing a brayering video on my Facebook business page soon so make sure you have "liked" the page and check it out!
I also made sure to brayer the inside of my card and added an extra reindeer for good measure :)
My customers decided this is a great alternative Christmas card more suited to our Australian climate! I hope you like it too!

Adding Texture with the Swirls and Curls Embossing folder
Its no secret I like cards with lots of texture! So for my technique classes this week I am showing several ways to add technique and lots of touchy-feely goodness to your cards. I could probably run a bunch of totally different classes on this one subject, but for this week I've just picked a few of my favourites.
The card you see here today is one of our projects. I used Brusho colours together with the Curls and Swirls embossing folder to create the swirly circles, and then layered them onto my card. Of course you'll get the full details in class.... Im running two classes, one evening one and one daytime one. Cost is $25 and you'll get all your supplies plus refreshments and a couple of hours of creative time just for you!
Dates:
Tuesday 11th December @ 7.30pm
or
Wednesday 12th December @ 11.15am
To book your spot email me by clicking HERE.
These are the last classes in my studio for the year (although I do have a last Stamp Club coming up on the 19th). Then in January there will be a SALE-A-BRATION and new catalogue launch (19th January). Normal Stamp-a-Stacks and Technique classes will resume in February. Saying Goodbye to the Santa's Workshop Suite
Yes.... our Holiday catalogue retiring list of discontinuing products has been released and so I am busily posting cards and projects made with some of our favourite retiring products. Today I am playing around with the Santa's Workshop suite of gorgeousness.....here's a pretty straightforward card that not only looks good, but it FEELS good too! Why? Because that awesome striped DSP on my card is FLOCKED.... so it feels like velvet!
One thing that I try to do is ALWAYS buy all the Speciality Designer Series Papers (DSP) in each catalogue... note that it is called "Speciality" for a reason! That means there is something super special about that paper that cant be seen in the catalogue. And this Santa's Workshop DSP is no exception.... many of the sheets feature flocking. The candy-striped paper here has velvet flocking on each white stripe, and it feels AWESOME! There is also flocking on the white edges of the hats worn by Santa and the elves and other textural elements. But sadly you can SEE it in the images online or in your catalogue.... you have to feel it for yourself! And one last note about these papers.... the matching framelits cut out the images on the paper AS WELL as the stamp images! Thats an extra bonus!
I've included a product list below should you wish to grab some of these awesome items for yourself before they are gone on January 2nd.
And as a side note... if you love texture.... I am doing a "Using Texture" technique class next week... click HERE to view my current event and class schedule. I am currently winding down a little for the end of the year, but there are lots more things planned for the coming year. And my big CATALOGUE LAUNCH event will be held in January so be sure to check that out too.... it is likely to book out, so grab your spot! I offer classes in the Central Coast and Hunter areas.
