Video Tutorial: Honey Bee card inspiration

Do you ever find inspiration in unexpected places?  I do!  Im a little bit embarrassed to admit my inspiration for this card... you might think me a bit crazy for this one!

I was driving home on the freeway from a card workshop on Friday, and happened to look in my rear vision mirror.  Behind me was a Volvo, and something about the front grate caught my eye.  Suddenly I was planning out a card design based loosely on what I had seen.  Can you kinda see the resemblance??

Of course if I had used a circle for my central motif that would have been even closer. But I chose a square in this case.  Inspiration is wherever you find it right??

Here's the inside of my card.. just simply stamped:

Anyhoo.... thats how this card idea came to be!  Im pretty happy with the result.  Every card I have made with this Honey Bee bundle has made my heart happy! Its such an easy set to use.  If you are looking for a great set that works for lots of different occasions, then Honey Bee might just be your go-to set too!

I've edited this post to add a video Tutorial to show you how I made this card.  I hope you love it! Click the pic below to view it....

The gold and black paper is a free SAB item, available as a gift-with-purchase when you place a $90 order.  The whole bundle (stamps and dies) is only $72.  I also used Memento Black ink to stamp my bees and a Mango Melody blend to colour in my stripes.  I've included a full product list below to help you if you wish to purchase any of these items for yourself.  Hit the SHOP NOW button on this page to go shopping! Items are shipped directly to you, anywhere in Australia.

Oh... and to all my fellow Australians... Happy Australia Day today!

Timeless Tulips for a great Team Day Out

Last weekend I held a great event with my team of Stampin'Up demonstrators.  We had 29 of us in the room and it was a fabulous day.  There was training, Make and Take projects, prizes, giveaways, games and a 2-course lunch.  I was fortunate to have Clare from our head office (Sydney) in attendance, and I was so happy with the day.

I will be sharing a couple of our projects from this event, and today I wanted to show the very first project that we were able to do.  I designed this one using the Timeless Tulips bundle, and I love the soft colours.  The background paper is the Parisian Blossoms DSP, and the background cardstock is Petal Pink.  My inks were Petal Pink, Calypso Coral and Mossy Meadow.

What do I love most about this stamp set?  That there is a matching punch of course!  I love using bundles like this because they are so easy to use!

You can order your own bundle by clicking on my SHOP NOW button on this page!

I think all my team members enjoyed making this card.... and I hope you like it too!

Simple Stamping with the Painted Poppies set

It's been a while since my last post, but there's a very good reason why!  In the past two weeks we have moved house..... and to be quite honest I am horrified as to how much stuff we have!  Such a mammoth job.... several days of which was committed entirely to sorting and moving my craft room space!  I am now in the new studio, but there is still a LOT to be done.... but box by box I will get there!  I'll have some photos for you when I have it complete!

In the meantime I have carved out a bit of space to create on.... and wanted to share a card that I created this week with one of my favourite new sets... the Painted Poppies stamp set!  This set is a fabulous stamping set.... and even though there are matching dies and accessories, its actually very good just on its own.  You can get some really great results just with stamps, ink and paper, and its an easy set to use.

Today I just used Memento black ink for the outlines, and used the solid watery image in Poppy Parade.  It came together in just a few minutes.

I also used the Peaceful Moments stamp set for the sentiment, and stamped that with Memento too. I've included a product list for you below should you wish to purchase any of these items for yourself.

I will be back with more regular posting now that my studio is starting to take shape!

I do hope you are enjoying our new catalogues and taking advantage of the Sale-A-Bration freebies... you get to choose a free item for every $90 order you place.

Have fun!

Introducing the beautiful Tropical Oasis bundle

Yesterday I played with the Tropical Oasis stamp set (and co-ordinating products) for the very first time... and this card you see is the result of that play!  Isnt it beautiful!?  The colours in the suite are fun and really evoke that Tropical feeling.  As many of you might know I have a trip to Maui (with Stampin'Up) coming up later this year, and I think this beautiful suite is going to really come in handy!
