School Holiday Crafting
It's the second week of the Spring School holidays here and this past Monday we had what our family affectionately calls a "Pyjama Day". Really its just an excuse to not change out of your pyjamas all day, but that's our right to do every now and again don't you think?
I had headed into the craft room to work on something, and my kids were wanting to see what I was up to. In the end we all sat down and worked on gingerbread houses that we made out of the Mini Milk Carton die. I didnt have a specific purpose in mind... we were just creating for something fun to do... but I did think that they would make pretty cute Christmas decorations. You could even put lollies or something in them if you chose.
We used "Soft Suede" as our gingerbread colour, Miss 9 came up with the idea of using the smallest brights buttons as flowers and strips of green for her flower stems. We used the Delicate Doilies sizzlits as the roof.. Mr 6 had the job of pushing out the little bits of paper from the holes: (a job he quite liked)
They were pretty pleased with their efforts and it kept them busy for a good block of time on Monday morning. I hope everyone else is having a good school holiday break... dont forget that classes begin again next week! I have actually now filled the Tuesday Evening Stamp-A-Stack, but the Wednesday 11am class still has a few spots. The watercolouring classes the following week is filling quickly too.
