New Online Class: November Cookie Cutter Cards!

Cant make it my classes but have always wished you could?  Well here's your chance to attend this Online Class with these 4 beautiful projects featuring the Cookie Cutter Bundle.

I've been working on this class for a little while and am excited today to offer it to you!  This class is a little different to what I have offered in the past online and I wanted to step you through how it will work.  Remember that my Online Classes are available to Australian customers only.

You can see the cards we will be making in the picture above.... and it includes a video tutorial for the Double Z-Fold card with the teddy bears.  I love making these!  All the projects you see above you will receive the paper pieces, cut, scored and ready to go!  Just like attending an actual class, but in the comfort of your own home.

For this class you will need to have two particular items... the Cookie Cutter Bundle (stamps and matching punch).  When you order these you will use the Online Class Hostess code MQBP747V (set up specifically for this class) to make sure that you are then enrolled in the class. By using this code, you are telling me that you have purchased the Bundle and want to do this class.

Although the Cookie Cutter bundle is the only thing I am saying needs to be purchased to do the class, I am assuming you have certain other items... for example.. your own adhesive and scissors.  We will also be using some items that are recommended, but as you may have these or similar in your collection, you do not have to buy these to receive the class, but you are likely to get the best results if you do use them. For example, this class uses a Real Red inkpad. You might already own this, and I don't require you to purchase it to enrol in the class. But as this red matches the paper you will be using, you will get the bet results if you use this colour.  So there is a small list of "Recommended Items" to complete the work, but you don't have to buy them now.

What if you already have this bundle?? No problem!  Simply order products to the same value ($61 or more) and use the same hostess code. I will assume you have the bundle already, and include you in the class list.

CLASS SIGN UP DATES:  OCTOBER 31st to NOVEMBER 14th, 2016.

Here's what you get:
All paper supplies for your 4 projects - cut and ready to use (these will be mailed to your supplied mailing address)
Video tutorial for each project - these will be sent to your supplied email address.  Video links will initially be exclusive to class attendees.. i won't make them public on Youtube for at least 6-12 months.

Here are the steps to enrol:

1. Go to the Online Store and log in with your email address (or "Create Account" if you've not used the store before) You need to make sure I am selected as your demonstrator, and DO NOT tick the box that says you don't wish to be contacted by Stampin'Up as I won't be able to see your name, address or other details to send the supplies you need.

2. Once you are in the store you will be able to use the headings on the left to negotiate.  You can either type the name of what you want into the search box, or visit the Holiday Catalogue heading, and then click the Holiday Bundles heading. You will see the Cookie Cutter Bundle appearing there... select this.

3. If you wish to add to your order above the bundle you are welcome to do that of course.  Simply use the "continue shopping" button to add more items as necessary.

4. Check out and make sure you have added the host code! For this class only it is MQBP747V.  Payment is by Credit Card.  Postage is $5.95 to anywhere in Australia right up to approximately $120.  After that, postage is 5% of your order, whatever the total might be.

5. Once you have submitted your order with the code, I will receive an email telling me you have ordered the bundle (or equivalent items) and then I will add you to the list of attendees.

6. I've prepared supply packs with all the pre-cut papers you will need for these projects (just like attending a real class in my studio!) and these will start to be mailed out in the week beginning 7th November.  A second and final round will be sent in the week beginning 14th November.  Video links will also be sent to attendees on those dates and are exclusive to those who sign up for the class.

7. Enjoy and make these gorgeous projects!

Swaps for Brisbane Onstage November 2016

Im getting very very excited about what's happening less than one week from now.  Our first global Onstage event is being held in Brisbane for 3 amazing days next week.  We used to have our annual Convention, just for South Pacific demonstrators.  But these days Stampin'Up have changed the format quite a lot, and they have one main event held every 6 months, with smaller training events staged around the world simultaneously.  And on the 3rd November Australia gets to host its very first global event. This means that there are demonstrators and staff from around the world coming to our part of the world to train and celebrate with us.... and that's kind of a big deal!

I don't make swaps for every event, although the last few events I have started making team gifts. But I already have my team gifts sorted this time around (cant believe I'm actually early with those for once!) and so I thought I'd make use of the head start and actually make up a few swaps for the event. I haven't finished them yet, but this is a few of my first design.... I am someone that cant bear to make too many cards the same (I get bored) so making up swaps in smaller numbers is more my thing.  I'm hoping that when these are done I will have time to do a few more of a different type.

The colour is Sweet Sugar Plum and I've used the 3d stamping (AKA shadow stamping) to create this effect.  I'll show you the finished card when I have them all done :-)

Emboss Resist with Watercolour for a gorgeous background

I'm offering the Tin of Tags as a class next month and my co-ordinating stamp set arrived this week.  It has both great sentiments and a couple of simple and cute images like the snowflakes you see on this card.  I really wanted to create a emboss resist watercoloured background with this as I think it looks like Christmas magic :-)

I used a piece of Shimmery White cardstock for my main card front as it holds watercolour quite well.  I stamped the snowflake in Versamark and then poured over my Embossing powder in white (although clear would work equally well for this).  Once heat embossed I used my Island Indigo ink with an aqua painter to create a wash over the whole background, leaving a small border all around.  And thats it for the background!  Its pretty easy but so effective!

I've included a product list below should you wish to order any of these products for yourself!

Enjoy!

Getting into Project Life

It has been said that our generation is the most photographed generation of all... and yet it has also been said that in 10 years it is unlikely that there will be many photos of us at all!  Why? Because we have so many digital images of ourselves on our devices that we don't think to have them printed out and we don't value them the way we once did with actual film. (You can read more about this trend HERE)  Both Scrapbooking and Memory Keeping seek to change this!

Personally I go between both traditional scrapbooking and Project Life.  I might still create a traditional page with a special photo (or photos) but when I need to catch up and move FAST, then its Project Life to the rescue for me!

I have another of my Project Life classes coming up this weekend and you're invited!   You might know that I love the process of documenting life events big and small.... and I use both traditional scrapbooking and Project Life to achieve this. In fact i started my whole Papercraft journey when I discovered Scrapbooking back in around 2004.... who knew where it would lead for me?   One of the things that I love the most is the fact that Scrapbooking (or Memory Keeping) helps me focus on the things that are really important, and it is so rewarding to get those photos OFF my phone, camera and computer, and into albums to be enjoyed and experienced all over again.

Here's a video to help explain when Project Life is about.....

This class is for anyone who:

  • wants to find out what Project Life is all about
  • has tried PL before but is after some new tips
  •  and ideas
  • Wants to have time to work on your pages
  • Wants to check out some of the NEW kits from our newly released catalogue!

Come along and learn more about this awesome Memory Keeping system. If you have photos on your phone or computer, lets get them OFF there and into albums to enjoy them.  The class will be $15 and includes instructions and tips, use of all my Project Life materials and accessories, plus 2-3 page protectors to work with. All materials and light refreshments provided. You just need to bring your own 6"x4" photos you wish to work with.... usually around 20 photos is a good number.

Fancy Frost Speciality DSP for an elegant Christmas card

I just realised this week that I haven't used much of my Fancy Frost DSP from our current Holiday Catalogue... so I pulled it out and used it to make this elegant Christmas card.  What I love about it is that it could be used for a non-Christmas card too... change the greeting and it would work beautifully for weddings or even anniversaries.  I love silver and white together... they always say classy and elegant to me!

The sentiment is from the "Star of Light" stamp set (one of our most popular sets in this year's Holiday catalogue) and I heat embossed it with silver embossing powder. The glitter ribbon is from the 2-pack in the Holiday catalogue... I need to order some more of that as I have already almost made my way through the first pack... its so useful!  And the leaves are cut with the Flourish Thinlit dies through my Big Shot embossing machine.... They are probably my favourite thinlits in the Annual Catalogue this year.... i use them all the time!

If you are in Australia and would like to order the items you need to create this card, you will find the product list below. Or you can visit my Online Store.  Enjoy!

Video Tutorial: Merry Tags Copper card

If you've been following my blog for a while you will know that I am currently having a love affair with black and copper.  I just adore the way these colours work together and the dramatic look they create. For today's card I used just a few elements to keep it relatively simple, but again the effect of black and copper together creates such a dramatic look.

I've included a product list for you below, and thought you might like to see a quick tutorial of how I put this card together. If you are in Australia and need to order any of these products, you can speak with your StampinUp demonstrator, or if you don't have one already, please feel free to order your products through my ONLINE STORE.

Here's the Video tutorial:

Merry Tags Shaker Card!

Who doesn't love a shaker card?  And the "Merry Tags" framelit dies really lend themselves to this style of card.  I think a few of these for extra special friends at Christmas would be lovely!

I embossed the crumb cake background with the Pine Bough textured embossing folder.  Then I added my shaker - I cut a piece of acetate (our Window Sheets) to the same size as the circular tags so that I could add the green Mica Flakes in behind.  I have found shaker cards so much easier to create now that we have the new Foam Adhesive strips available.  I've included a full product list below so that you can have everything you need to create your own shaker cards if you wish.

I'm thinking a video tutorial on how to create this shaker might be in order... what do you think??

Here's a close up of my shaker ornament.....
